Very dark copper pour, and a thick sticky head with good lacing. Great hoppy aroma boat loads of citrus, grapefruit, sweet orange, and lemon. There is also some floral honey notes. The flavor is big snd bold lots of hops and sweet honey. The mouth feel is thick and viscous. This is a big beer. The hops are on par with a double ups but the malt bill and alcohol make it fall short. A little one dimensional but I’m pretty sure that was the point. Outstanding beer for the hop head in all of us.

Bouteille 341ml.

Originally rated December 2005. Third in my IPA night of rockin’. Purchased at Dépanneur de la Rive in Cap-Rouge, Quebec. The label says, 104 IBU and 6% ABV. Pours the same as the Bièropholie IPA, hazy caramel-amber colour with a big creamy tanned head. Retention is awesome, so is the lacing. No caramel in this one though, just plain hop. The taste is the same, pure hop. Not too bitter though, just hoppy tasting. Dry finish mouthfeel. Also bread scent in the aroma. Well brewed, and very good if you like the hop taste and not the bitterness.

Bottle thanks to blutt59. Pours with a deep brown body and a fading off-white head. Aroma of hops, syrupy and pine. Taste is hops, a bit of metallic copper and pine. High carbonation.

(Bottle 34,1 cl) Hazy, amber golden with a dense, off-white head leaving laces. Fresh, citrusy hop aroma. Medium body with some caramel malt and then a very distinct, citric astringency. A bit raw and unrefined in my opinion. Courtesy of Siroy. 120207

A muddy amber beer with an orange head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of hops and citrus. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of lemon and grapefruit, leading to a dry bitter end.

Cloudy amber. Way too much fizz, way too much head. Woody, lemony, medicinal aroma. Very bitter, earthy like drinking topsoil. A little bit of wood but I’m not getting much. The hops aren’t at all fresh and I really don’t get much appeal out of the vague caramel malts. Doesn’t seem like you were supposed to taste them at all really. Clumsy, amateurish beer that offers me no reason to drink it.

Dark orange amber also, with a thick bigger bubbled head, off-white, and lacing. Would have imagined hops would be more pronounced, but I found them more coniferous, with nice fruity esters, berry-like. In mouth, the hops are definitely sharper in mouth, but less long, almost dropping more quickly. Citrusy and caramel. Actually prefered Cascade better.

Bottle: Poured a deep orange amber color ale with a nice medium dark foamy head with great retention. Aroma of sweet floral hops with a good malt backbone. Taste is also dominated by the floral hops with a decent touch of bitterness at the end. Creamy texture make this even more enjoyable.
