Clean, darker amber-brown colour with a warm-beige head, decent stay and sticky-creamy lacing. Aromas of darker malts, spicy rye, wheat-banana notes, hints of maple and light alcohol. This continues into the taste with some nice dryness in the end, to cut the thickness-sweetness. A tad nutty, but the wheat is a tad too bananaish. Still, pretty good to try.

Second time through on this one. A little bottle aging seems to have done it some good. Nose is relatively understated with dark fruit, tropical fruit and brown sugar standing forward. There are some interesting taste elements in the quad - ripe berries, caramel, dried fruit, and a finish that adds in buscuity malt, a little hop bitterness and some bubble gum yeast. There is a nice alcohol burn that emerges mid-taste and holds until the end.

Bottle: Poured a dark burgundy color ale with large light brown foamy head with OK retention and some light lacing. Aroma of residual brown sugar notes with light dry fruits ester is OK but you don’t get the rich ester notes that I usually associated with the style. Taste is somewhat an off balanced mix of caramelized malt with brown sugar notes and some dry fruits notes. Light grainy notes can also be detected. Body is bit light for style with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Not bad but well below the style staples.

Belle robe et bonne texture en bouche. Alcool trop présent et arrière-goût un peu métallique.
