Originally rated June 2008. First new brew from Sleeman since Sapporo bought them. 20 years of brewing... oh yeah !! Let’s see... pours a golden-orange colour with a big off-white head, that actually stays up a while. The lacing is pretty sticky too. The nose starts off fresh and malty, and turns into hop. Mouthfeel is a mix between watery and syrupy. The taste seems really on the corn side. A little hoppy finish, but nothing exciting... especially for an anniversary brew.

Blond color, creamy head. Soft beer, can’t even tell if Ale or Lager. Useless.

Bouteille 341ml. De couleur dorée et claire. Nez de grains de malt pâle, léger de pain et de houblon herbeux (gazon) avec de faibles notes de légumes bouillis et de biscuits. Mince-moyenne en bouche avec un pétillement moyen (très faiblement croustillant) et une texture légèrement aqueuse aux petites notes crémeuses. Faibles notes fruitées (citron) et de légumes bouillis lors de l’entrée en bouche suivi d’un goût de grains de malt pâle, de notes de pain ainsi que des traces de biscuits, de caramel et de maïs sucré puis en finale l’on retrouve une légère amertume de houblon herbeux (gazon mouillé) avec de faibles traces métalliques. Post-goût court, légèrement amer de houblon herbeux avec des notes fruitées (zest de citron) ainsi que des traces métalliques.

A golden ale with a thick white head. Lightly hopped malt aroma with notes of sulfur and biscuit. In mouth, a crisp malt with light grainyness and herbal hops. Short in mouth. Not bad for Sleeman. Bought at LCBO.

Sample, savoured at the Mondial de la bière on May 29 2008; eye: straw golden, slight effervescence, clear, tiny ring of beige head; nose: corn, grain, light malt; mouth: corn, caramel, finale in grainy corn, average carbonation, medium-light body, lightly sweet; overall: correct FRANÇAIS Échantillon, savourée au Mondial de la bière le 29 mai 2008; oeil : dorée paille, très légère effervescence, claire, petit anneau de mousse beige; nez : maïs, grain, léger malt; bouche : maïs, caramel, finale en maïs granuleux, carbonatation moyenne, corps moyen-léger, légèrement sucrée; en résumé : correct
