Very dark orange pour, darker that you would expect in a DIPA. Very nice aroma of sweet citrucy hops and some juicy honey notes. Wow lots of hops inhere this smells outstanding. So far this great ok now the flavor is where it falls off. The flavor is very sweet and bordering cloying. The hops are there but they are muddled in honey and a sweet syrupiness. The flavor is pretty messy and all over the place it’s too sweet and lacks crispness. The main flaw though is the finish. There is no bitter finish it doesn’t grab you in the throat. It just finishes with more of the hoppy syrup. A great effortif they clean it up i can be outstanding.

I guess they have changed this recipe a bit. New green label and now says 9.5% ABV. Pours a hazy apricot-amber colour with a huge off-white head that is creamy, has great retention and creates layered wavy lacing lines. Lots of tiny-tiny particles are seen through the brew. Definitely, the hop is present in the scent, but not the one I like (that seems bitter and dry) but the one that does not make my world flourish (that is more on the sweet and floral side). Kind of watery mouthfeel and alcohol is very well-hidden. Nothing too crazy in the taste. A little hop and notes of burnt malt in the aftertaste. Little hints of caramel malt as well. Nothing too bitter here. Just not a fan of the particular hop they use in this one.

Deep glowing amber coloured body with a copper tint and a nice-sized fast-dying tan head. Aroma of fresh hops, grass, wheat a bunch of yeast and some clean sugars. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong hoppy flavour up front with grass and hay also noticeable. Aftertaste shows some yeast, sugar, toffee all left completely bittered from the hops. Overall, this is a nice beer - more of a lighter Imperial IPA, but still showing a lot of the hop bitterness - great! I’d recommend this to others and I’d like to try others from this brewery as well. I sampled this 341 mL bottle purchased at Depanneur Peluso (Bonisoir) in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 09-April-2009, sampled on 01-May-2009 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Bouteille 341ml. De couleur ambrée-orange et voilée. Nez de houblon citrique (pamplemousse), résineux et légèrement floral, malté de caramel sucré, de levures fruitées (agrumes abricots), léger de biscuits et avec des notes d’alcool doux. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen et une texture légèrement crémeuse, huileuse et résineuse. Goût amer de houblon résineux, citrique (pamplemousse) et légèrement floral (une amertume présente toute la gorgée) accompagné d’un goût de levures fruitées (agrumes, moyen d’abricots, traces de pêches) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût malté de caramel sucré aux notes rôties avec un léger goût de biscuits et des notes de toffee terreux puis en finale l’on assiste à un regain d’amertume de houblon plus asséchant, plus herbeux et légèrement plus résineux ainsi qu’un léger goût d’alcool et avec de faibles notes épicées (poivre). Post-goût long et un peu sec, amer de houblon citrique, résineux, herbeux et aux notes florales, moyennement fruité (zest d’agrumes, pelures d’abricots) et avec des notes d’alcool.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy medium brown color ale with an average head with some average retention and no lacing. Aroma of bitter hops is dominating with some subtle caramel malt. Taste is also dominated by some bitter hops with minimal caramel malt. I prefer my IIPA with some floral and citrus notes form the hops and this one was just too dry. Probably one of the best offering from this brewery but still lacking loads of characteristics to render this remarkable.

A hazy dark amber with a thin light moka head. Very low carbonation upon opening, but nice head formation. Nice resinous hops and burned caramel in aroma, very restrained. In mouth, a good hoppy beer, with resinous hops, lingering in mouth, not too overbearing or over the top, and some caramel malt as backbone. Medium bodied. Bought at Joanette. 2.69$. A good I2PA from Quebec.
