Opaque dark brown beer, residual pale tan head. Smooth palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Soft rich dark malts, reasonable dark chocolate. Aged barrel wet wood and ripe fruits but also contrasting fresh bourbon spice. Smooth finish brings more of the same aged barrel. Best of this trio. Tasty!

30 November 2018. Billie's Craft Beer Fest. Cheers to Anke, tderoeck & 77ships! Cloudy black with a lasting, thin, frothy, off-white head; little lacing. Aroma of bourbon, calvados, wood, candied apple, vanilla, chocolate. Taste is medium malty sweet, milk chocolate & vanilla, some apple & a smoky note; light roasted bitter, basic roasted malt, coffee, a bit woody. Dry, peppery hoppy finish, toasty & woody, warming bourbon alcohol. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Decent stuff, bit too basic in the aroma.

Draft glass @ Gollem. Black, brief soapy non-lasting mocha head. Oddly similar to the Heaven Hill version,… Nose is very basic, sugar, candy, cheap bourbon, some harsh varnish, almost pain, basic bourbon,… Taste is boozy alcoholic, some odd harsh plastic, more harsh plastic maybe than the Heaven Hill version but not that hugely different, basic cheap sugar, basic bourbon, syrup, boozy, candy, basic sugar, soft carbonation,, cheap coffee,… Overall pleasant to drink but really not that great, simple, basic bourbon, sugar etc,…
