Bottle 0.33l, Menestho Oatmeal stout, 7% abv. Cloudy, brown to black colored. AROMA- roasted malts, coffee with cream, chocolate dessert, chestnuts, pu er tea. FLAVOR- neutral, lightly bitter, smooth, cream dessert, coffee, roasted malts. Medium bodied. Tasty.

Bottle from some place in France opened in another place in France. France is huge. Pours black with tan head. Sweet deep roasted malts, dark sugar, weak chocolate, old dusty coffee beans. Strong sweet and bitter. Over medium body, soft and somewhat creamy feel. Soft carbonation. Quite enjoyable but not overly impressed. Même si cette Menhesto n’est pas la bière la plus aboutie ou complexe de la Débauche, la brasserie nous démontre encore leur maîtrise du style avec un équilibre bien travaillé. Ce Porter définit par la brasserie comme une Spicy Brown Ale se démarque par l’intégration de poivre malgache Voatsipériféry et de gingembre. Si le poivre se ressent bien (sans être pour autant être trop prégnant), le gingembre n’est que peu décelable. Des arômes herbacés provenant très certainement des houblons utilisés sont cependant bien présents avec de surcroît une amertume relativement poussée conférant une large fraîcheur en complément des arômes maltés qui sont quant à eux sur une alliance très équilibrée entre café/chocolat/caramel. L’alcool à 5,5 % est de plus bien utilisé, et même si la corpulence est un peu limite, la longueur est pour sa part bonne. Une complexité plus importante eut été tout de même appréciable. Bon point pour le visuel avec un brun foncé quasi noir surmonté d’une belle mousse crémeuse d’1 cm. Le nez est sur un beau malt torréfié avec le trio café/chocolat/caramel complété d’effluves herbacées. Ni le poivre, ni le gingembre ne se font alors réellement ressentir. Le poivre fait son apparition dès l’attaque, bien dosé, relevant à point l’ensemble. L’amertume, relativement soutenue, surprend quelque peu par rapport à la base maltée, mais apporte une fraîcheur herbacée intéressante. La deuxième bouche voit le poivre s’affirmer très légèrement, sans que le cocktail aromatique n’évolue. L’arrière bouche permet cependant de déceler quelque peu le gingembre, celui-ci restant tout de même discret. Le final, sur une petite envolée de l’amertume est davantage sur le café pour clore de belle façon la dégustation. Plaisant.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with average to huge, frothy, osteoporosing, minimally lacing, brown head. Sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of chocolate, vanilla, some cocoa, coffee, caramel and treacle. Taste is dry, slightly bitter hoppy, minimally sweet, roasty dark malty, notes of chocolate, some liquorice, coffee; bitter roasty dark malty and hoppy finish.

Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk at home. Black beer lasting tan head. Chocolate aroma. Smooth in mouth. I like the beers from this brewery. Very good. Does all the styles pretty well. Chocolate dark. Light hops. S9me dark fruit. Dark cherry. Quite an intense aroma. Impressive.

Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, burnt, dark roasted, dark malt, sweet malt, light chocolate - coffee. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft.
