The Emilisse Stout is enhance by a blend of fine Italian espresso beans used in the brewing process. It boasts a blend of 90% Arabica and 10% Robusta, which combine to give the Emilisse Espresso Stout an extra-spicy, full-bodied palate.

Bottle picked up at Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgium 16.12.11 consumed in Frank (camper) on a sloping cliff face field, Nr Looe Cornwall 24.12.11 The nose is an interesting combination of gravy and coffee. This is smooth, easy drinking (for the strength) there is tons of coffee and coffee ice cream flavours, also coffee milkshake. Smooth touch powdery at times, lovely. A6 A4 T8 P5 Ov15 3.8

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.5%. Black colour, ruby in the highlights, large to moderate tan head. Roasty aroma with strong notes of espresso coffee, hints of dark chocolate. The flavour is very roasty and seems first quite dry, intense notes of espresso coffee, maybe too much. I’d like a little more sweetness, to balance the roastiness and the bittering hops in the finish. Still a fine beer as it is, but requires that you don’t hate coffee.

33cl bottle, BBE 06/2013. Poured black with a brown head. High carbonation. Aroma is milk chocolate, coffee and roastedness. Flavor is roasted malt, and strong coffee leading to quite a dry and bitter finish with even more coffee in it. Fullbodied. Not very complex, but I like coffee stouts, so this was an enjoyable one. Alcohol bites quite alot when it gets warmer.

Bottled at Bishop’s Arms Folkungagatan, Stockholm. Black, firm beige head. Syrupy chocolate aroma. Sweet and heavy, full bodied with loads of heavily roasted coffee in a sea of syrup. Salty with aggressive resiny bitterness. Edgy and overly sweet.

Pours pitch black with a nice foamy beige head. Nice roasty aroma of espresso and coffee notes and hints of chocolate. Taste starts out quite smooth but quickly roasty coffee notes kick in. Hints of hops and fruits as well. Finish is roasty and slightly bitter. Well balanced, tasty coffee stout.

bottle@home: dark brown with a tanned head, taste is bitter coffee with some lovely espresso underneath, roasted malts, bitter chocolate but there is also hint of sweetness underneath, lots of coffee and espresso in here, great stuff, although I do sort of wish that the body was a bit thicker, unlikely everyone is saying there is not too much coffee in this one, it is just right

Black / very dark brown. Small creamy tan head. Aroma of coffee, bitter chocolate, vanilla, burned malts, nuts. Coffee bitterness in the flavour, burned malts, coffe, bitter chocolate. Smooth oily texture. Finish burned malts and bitter chocolate.

Original rating: 6-4-7-3-14=3.4. Clear dark brown / red color, beige head. Smell almost just coffee. Taste coffee and a little bitter. Soft taste for beer of 10%ABV. Nice beer. -- Re-rate December 23rd 2014: Bottle @ Van Moll Brewpub. Opaque black color, medium sized brown head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, brown malts, lightly coffee, less than I had expected. Taste malts, nicely bitter, but again less coffee and espresso than I had expected and more dark malts. The espresso is there but not as profoundly as I had expected and hoped. Nice though.
