Limited to just 650 bottles, this traditional farmhouse ale is heavily hopped with Simcoe for subtle, spice notes on the nose & palate. Expect aromas of ginger cake, sourdough bread & ripe berries on the nose with a pleasing bitterness & tartness on the finish.

Rustic and delicious pairing even though the beer is a hint too oxidised.

Bottle split at L6, thanks to Leighton #533/650, 10/02/20. Hazed deep orange with an off white cap that dissipates to a swirl - a lively pour after some gushing action. Nose is earthy, damp straw, grape must, funk, farmyard tones, green berry skins. Taste comprises dusty fruits, yeast esters, light spice, grains, damp grass, light herbal tones, wood must. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Ok.

Bottle shared in London - sourced from online. Gusher! Pours lightly hazy orange-gold with a big, foamy white head. So so, has some grassy bitterness, a little plastic, orange peel. Light bodied with lively, massaging carbonation. Finishes with notes of grass, chlorine, a little alcohol. Not great.

Keg at Craftsman Company, Aberdeen. It pours deep orangey - amber with a thick, foamy white head. The aroma is rich funk, brett, earthy, hay, twits of citrus, ripe tangy orange, Irn Bru, sherbet, spicy, touch metallic and leather. The taste is dry, bitter, earthy, tannin, funky, barnyard, plenty of brett, must, toothy, old leather sofa, pine, overripe stone fruits, mouldy peach, spicy and herbals vibes with a kick of alcohol. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Loads of depth and plenty to keep you on your toes. A hearty funky saison. Nice work.
