This big-bird-couloured-blue-bastard is our IIPA. This beer will rock and F*ck up your taste buds for sure. A double IPA as a double IPA should be. A full bodied palate wrecker of a hop bomb. We dry hop this bad-boy in every tank to get all those tropical, fruity, piney and citrusy aromas and flavors in there. For this mofo we use 8 different American hop varieties! And it’s the beer with the most hops in it and for that reason no beer to put away. IPA means drink fresh! Obviously unfiltered and unpasteurized.

330ml bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours clear amber with a thin, but long-lasting white head. Aromas of resin, skunk, burnt caramel. Lime pickle, pine. Taste is rich, toffee, minerals, heavy citrus. Sticky texture. Reminds me of Hardcore IPA at its best.

Draft sample @ Van Moll fest 2015, Eindhoven.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - golden amber with a nice fluffy head. Nose - passion fruit and papaya. Hop resin, something earthy and spicy too. Taste - more papaya, drying at the end in an apricot and resin note. Palate - close to medium bodied with a big tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - very tasty and scarily drinkable given the 9%. Reminds me of Great Divide Hercules.

Poured from a bottle courtesy of my Summer Secret Santa. Aroma has some medium light caramel and toasted bread notes with some light cracker. Moderate hop aroma that is rather woody and herbal with some light floral and grapefruit notes. Pours a hazy copper color with a fairly large, thick, tan head that exhibits good retention. Moderately high lacing and medium legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with some caramel as well as lighter toasted bread and cracker notes. Medium high bitterness with some light alcohol spice. Hop flavor is moderate with woody, resinous, and herbal hops dominating. Lighter floral and citrus notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly sticky with medium carbonation. Low astringnecy and low, but noticeable alcohol warmth. Overall, a bit malty for my preferences and the hop character is not my preferred fruity hop note. It’s a clean IPA though and the hops do work with the malt character.

Bottle from my Secret Santa. Almost clear orange colour. Lots of hops aroma, seems fresh, orange, citrusy, fruity. Resiny. Now the taste... it is brutally bitter. Bold and underlined. Intense citrusy hoppy flavours and really in your face with the bitterness, start to end. Hop roundhouse kick. Really good, unique. Does not seem off balance despite the boldness.

330 ml bottle shared by Gurthnar, thanks!
Dark amber, hazy body, with a medium, creamy, off-white head.
Aroma of grapefruit, resin, pine, slight tropical fruits, caramel.
Taste follows this, with slight grass.
Medium, a bit oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes bitter, resinous, piney, fruity, also sweet malty.
Very nice. Great balance between the resinious hops and the sweet malts. Drinks quite easy for the ABV. Nothing outstanding, but really enjoyable.
