Draught@TCBW2019. Deep brown colour with a minor head. Aroma is toffee, some sweet malts, mild alcohol and some slight dried fruits to it. Flavour is following the pattern of the aroma. Nice one, and not too boozy.

Bottle. Dark brown pour. Aroma of rich caramelised malt, raisin, figs, dates, molasses, sugar and caramel fudge. Taste has lots of raisin, molasses, figs, dates, vanilla, caramelised malt, some oak, caramel fudge and a little booze. Really nice malty doppelbock.

0.33 l bottle from 'De Bierkoning', bottled in January 2019. Clear, deep ruby with a medium large, frothy, stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity aroma of raisins, prunes, caramel and candy sugar. Rather sweet, malty, moderately bitter and gently fruity taste of caramel, raisins, prunes, brown sugar and traces of nuts, followed by a short, moderately bitter, a little boozy and warming finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very pleasant Doppelbock, extremely well-balanced and true to the style.

Bottle at Oedipus Brewery Tap, Amsterdam, Saturday 8th June 2019. Hazy conker brown with a filmy light beige head. This has good depth and perhaps it's because Oedipus have linked up with Laugur, but this is very good. Strong with a little oomph, some fruit, caramel and malts dominate here but I like it, it's really good.
