500ml bottle from Woodfield Stores, Shrewsbury. Pours a clear copper, minimal off-white ring circling the glass. Aroma presents a gentle amber malt sweetness. Lightly oily on the palate, with caramel amber malt leading the way, soft fruity undertones, perhaps a hint of cardboard suggesting it's not too fresh (although has plenty of life on the BBD). Kind of tastes like I imagined a cask bitter would taste back in 1980.

Cask. A dark amber beer with no head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel and nuts, but also some citric hops. The flavor is sweet malty with a light touch of metal as well as nuts, leading to an OK bitter end.
