14th September 2020, Shrewsbury Beer Share gathering with Syrian Supper in Chez Sophie, five in attendance. Thanks Simon for the 660ml bottle of this. Black bodied, wispy tanned head. Oats in the nose and taste, sadly this lacked depth and oomph, especially for a 12% Imp Stout.

660ml bottle @ Syrian Supper tasting, Chez Sophie Sep 20. Pours black, thin tan head. Light roast on the nose. Not quite as meaty and malty as expected, quite thin on the palate lacking depth of flavour. Certainly tastes nowhere near 12%. Low carbonation, modest currant fruits, subtle roast. Bit of a disappointing end to the night really.

A few ml left from the 660 my Mrs smashed! Sigh! Almost opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Smooth light palate, modest fine carbonation. Soft malts, pretty tangy, a bit too tangy frankly. Ripe fruits underneath. Smooth tangy finish. Disappointing, too much tang but certainly rich at least.

Keg at The Pint Shop, Oxford, Sunday 31st January 2018 we are off to see Seamus Fogarty and This is The Kit to night at the O2 Pours black with a slim light beige head that clings to the side of the glass. Fruity but with a good tarry lick, drinks far easier than 12%, there is a little woodiness. Soft in the mouth, a bit of liquorice. It's quite good. A6 A4 T8 P4 Ov14 3.6
