Cask at CBC, Islington on 16th April 2017. Virtually black with almost no lacing from a pale brown shallow film. Sweet roast malt aroma. Rich maktiness in-mouth, with nuttiness and berry fruits. A coffee touch. A satisfying finish of the aforesaid. Smooth mouthfeel and a lightish body.

Cask at Torrside Brewery Open Weekend, New Mills, Derbyshire, Saturday 10th December 2016 Pours black with a slim, creamy textured off-white sticky head. Really pleasant straight down the line stout, simple roastiness but a little hint of the hops pops through, a little creamy milk chocolate, nice stuff, a solid uncomplicated stout. Cask at Cafe Beermoth - Manchester. Pours deep brown with a thick, lasting beige cream head. Mellow roasted malts in the nose, some milk chocolate, light earth. Light sweet flavour with relaxed ashy roast, some bittersweet cocoa, scorched earth, faint leather. Light bodied with fine carbonation and creamy texture. Nicely layered chocolate in the finish, with more roasted malts, burnt wood, hints of dried dark berries. A really solid low-octane stout.
