We've brewed a handful of Sour IPAs and we think the style has great potential - we want you to join us in realising it. The first of our SIPA series, we've gone for Simcoe, a firm New England favourite, added during biotransformation and standard dry hop charge. Enjoy cold and allow to warm.

375ml bottle from Chez Sophie. Pours unclear gold, foamy white head. Aroma is zesty orange sherbet. Taste is similarly zesty, tangy, orange dibdabs, passionfruit, a touch spiky, not crazily sour, fairly sugary. Drinks well for the strength. Perhaps a little too tangy at times.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Fully hazy, dirty gold. Thick off white head settles to a thin, lacing foam. Nose has acid drop sweets. Lemon sherbet. Some pineapple. Some mango. A yoghurt thing runs throughout. Taste is juicy, tart, and lightly puckering. Juicy acidity on the palate. A little drying. Fine, crisp carbonation. More of the tart and juice to finish. Could have managed more hop character for me, but it’s a tasty beer regardless.

Bottle from Westhill SS. It pours cloudy burnt orange with a thick foamy white head. The aroma is sweet - sour, juicy, tangy, orange fanta, zingy sherbert, orange creamsicle, apricot, mango and sour candy. The taste is crisp, dry, very juicy, tart, puckering, mango, peach, orange, tangerine, papaya, sour candy, orange chewits, juicy tang, hint of acidity and minerality. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Well judged. Juicy, tangy and moreish. Delicious.
