Bottle @ JohnMurdoch. Amber colour, off-white head. Nose is pine, grapefruit, some malts. Flavour is malty, fairly bitter pine. Ok stuff, but a bit watery and one-dimensional.

Medium beige head. Deep dark red body. Spicy mango and lime aroma with sugary notes. Dry-sweet wooden mango and spice taste with lime and roasted malts notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dry-sweetish wooden spicy lacquer aftertaste with fruity gooseberry notes. Very easy to drink. Outstanding. (0.33l bottle, beermerchants.com.)

Bottle 330ml. @ chriso.Clear medium to dark amber orange colour with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, toasted, caramel, rye, moderate to light light heavy hoppy, orange - citrus, grapefruit. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, long bitternes, late finish has a chili fruit sweet burn. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [ As The Kernel Brick Red Rye Ale ].Unclear medium to dark brown colour with a small, fizzy, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, rye notes, heavy hoppy, orange - citrus, grapfruit. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and heavy bitter with a long duration, dark malt and hops, licorice. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110618] 8-3-8-3-16

Cask at the Rake. Reddish-brown pour with a light beige head. Orchard fruit aromas with a splash of raisins. Blackcurrant, baked apple, raspberry flavours. Very fruity indeed. Nice bitter tang. Fruity, bitter finish.

Bottle at the Kernel Brewery. It pours cloudy red-brown with a thin foamy beige head. The nose is resin, red berry, orange, grapefruit and lemon. The taste is orange, mango, lemon, lime, resin, rye, pine, red berry, toast, hay and grass, with a long bitter-citrus finish. An Interesting beer that’s really enjoyable to drink.

Thanks to Evin and Toby for this unexpected treat! Cloudy amber red beer, short lived creamy tan head. Slight soft palate, moderate carbonation. Fresh hops on the nose. Creamy smooth malt with a whisper of lacto caramel sweetness. Trace of rye spice. Fresh piney hops turning to a little marmalade and then a bitter grapefruit kick. Some orange citrus underneath. Semi dry smooth finish with long lingering bitter aftertaste. Superior!

Half pint, hand pulled cask ale at Bree Louise. Deep, dark brown coloured body. Shiny surface. Resinous hops to the nose with a drop of sweet malts behind. Delicate flavour of caramel malts in fine interplay with dark fruits. Solid bitter end with a rhubarb touch (London, 19.03.2011).
