Poured from a bottle with a best by date of 09/02/2017. Aroma is malty with some toasted bread, crackers, and light caramel and honey. Medium stone fruit esters with moderate hop notes of grapefruit and orange. Light resin and pine. Pours a hazy, copper color with a medium sized, moderately thick, white head that recedes fairly quickly to the edges where it lingers in clumps. Medium lacing and small legs. Flavor is slightly sweet with some cracker, toasted bread, biscuit and light caramel notes. Fairly bitter for an APA; this has definitely strayed into IPA category and is even on the bitter side of that. Light stone fruit ester note. Medium to medium light grapefruit notes with moderate resin and a bit of a spicy, woody hop character. Bitterness lingers with some cracker notes from the malt. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a decent beer, but its not really an APA. Hop levels are alright, but its way too bitter. I would prefer a stronger hop aroma and flavor, but for the style the hops are probably about right.

Flaske fra ICA Støperigata, delt med Ovesen: en god pale ale i butikkstyrke med en fin bitterhet preget av citrus og spanske appelsiner. Og akkurat det lille sødmestikket som trengs.

Bottle shared with JMD at HNB 25.04.15. Golden. White head. Fine aroma and taste of American hops, bitter citrus and Sevilla marmelade. Balanced. Fine mouthfeel for such a low ABV. Good drinkability.

Re-rating from bottle. Slightly unclear golden body with a big off-white head. Nice refreshing citric fruit aroma. Flavor is pale malt with citric fruit and balanced bitterness. No faults this time. Not very exiting or complex, but a nice and refreshing session beer I could drink any time.

Old rating:
On tap as Økologisk Pale Ale@ Crowbar. Unclear orange body with a big off-white head. Aroma is unfortunately dominated by hermetic vegetables and butterscotch. The flavor is sourish with an unpleasant harsh bitterness and cooked vegetables. Body is totally out of balance. This is really bad and should not be sold. A responsible waiter would have stopped this from being served. To be re-rated whenever the opportunity occurs, because this is definitively not the way it’s meant to be. But as long as it’s sold my rating is based on the beer I was served. 3-3-2-2-2

500ml bottle bought at Meny Oslo City. Low bubbly white head, dotted spots on the glass. Cloudy golden-orange coloured body. Aroma of dried citrus. Blended flavour profile displaying notes of peach, orange and a little malty sweetness beneath. Mild citrus shells on the ending. Medium to thin bodied. Quite refreshing down the swallow (shared with Finn, Stefan and Elisabeth, Tårnrommet, Tromsø 15.05.2014)

On tap at Crowbar. An unclear orange-golden beer with a small beige head. The aroma has loads of diacetyl, with fruityness in the back. Some malts in the flavor, a little fruityness too, but diacetyl dominates. Medium body, very soft carbonation. Fruity, diacetyl dominated finish. Pretty bad this one. Rating: 3-3-3-3-5-1.7. 140501

Bottle. An unclear, dark orange-golden beer with a minimal-sized off-white head. The aroma is citrusy and piney, grapefruit, some peach and pineapple too. Malty notes in the back. It’s citrusy and quite bitter on the palate, with some malty sweetness in the back. Bready hints. It’s full-bodied and pleasantly carbonated, with a lasting fruity and bitter finish. Notes of pineapple, peaches and pine cones. Certainly something was wrong the first time I tasted this one, so I’m glad I bought a bottle of it just in case. An easy drinkable beer, quite tasteful too. 150131
