The fifteenth of twenty-one beers for our 11th wedding anniversary. Sirena's. Bottle 0.375l, more than three years aged. Not so cloudy, black colored. AROMA- very nice bourbon and rum barrel character, pralines, roasted, cocoa nibs. FLAVOR- smooth, moderately sweet, slightly balsamico sour, slightly bitter, strong barrel aged character again, warming, honey, pralines. Fuller bodied. Really good.

Bottle at home thanks to Colin for the lockdown source. A clear cola brown coloured pour with a fading light tan head. Aroma is woody funk, varnish, solvent hot alcohol, hint of green apple, . Flavour is composed of semi sweet, layered woody roast, malts, vanilla, raw oak, bourbon, wamring alcohol, some dried chocolate, edges of balsamic. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, light tang, oily, fine carbonation. Little harsh.

375ml @ Ryan's. Appearance: brown with a beige head. Aroma: lots of barrel and wood, some tannins with a little bit of spice. Taste: along the same lines, lots of cocoa with noticeable spice and fruitiness coming from the rum barrels. Overall: nice and complex.

Poured from 375mL bottle. Near black with minimal beige head, decent amount of sediment. Earthy, chocolate, whiskey, light raisin. Okay.

Dark brown. No head. There's a big nutty aroma, chocolate, toasty cacao. On the palate, it's pretty flat, oily, and brings brown sugar, and a bit of tartness. There's certainly a bit of fruitiness, and rich barrel accents. Getting into old ale territory with this one.

500mL bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is very complex and barrel-heavy, with loads of bourbon and whiskey barrels, dry cocoa, and moderate roast. Flavour is super chocolatey, with intense whiskey barrels, and lots of dark cocoa husks. Nice blend of whiskey barrels and chocolate. Then some dark fruits come in and make it a little less enjoyable. But overall, very tasty.

Keg at The Star & Garter, Bromley. Black pour with a tan head. Nose is dark chocolate, ethanol, toffee, bourbon. . Very alcoholic aroma. Flavours of coffee, dark chocolate, lemon, lots of bourbon. . Pure ethanol in the foretaste with a very nice coffee & chocolate approach in the aftertaste. Very nice.

On tap at Goblet Zagreb. Pitch black coloured, small brownish head, barrel in the nose. Roasted malt, chocolate, dried fruits, barrel and light smoked notes with warming alcoholic finish.

Tap at Goblet ZG. Pitch black body, traces of a beige head. Huge barrel notes in the aroma, raisins, lightly chocolatey maltiness. Soft taste, smooth barrel notes, that build up, putting out old barrel notes as well. Milk caramel-driven, pleasant maltiness, sweetish, some molasses show up too, mild herbal touches near the end. Well hidden alcohol. The barrel is fairly assertive overall. Quality stuff by all means.
