Cutthroat is a Utah classic. Brewed with caramel malts and piney American hops, our flagship beer goes well with anywhere.

tap at McStiff’s - This brew has a pleasant citrus hop aroma. It’s moderately hopped with citrus and caramel character. This medium bodied brew with some lingering bitterness in the finish is, IMO, better than the Wyld EPA I had right before it.

12 Fl Oz bottle, drank outside Bryce Canyon on 6th May 2010. The bottle was obtained (along with some other choice brews) at Ruby’s Inn general store. The beer was poured into my plastic toothbrush tumbler, it is all I had to use in the motel. The beer seemed a whole lot better than the on-tap version I’d had a couple of days earlier outside Zion NP in Springdale. The pale amber body seemed thicker and richer to look at and the off-white head stayed longer. The aroma was hoppy and interesting and the taste was a good blend of hops and malts unlike the ’wishy-washy’ brew from before. A lot better experience than the tap beer, missed the good food though, only had a salad with cheese this time. Also had an on-tap one: n tap in Oscar’s, Springdale (outside Zion NP). An amber pint with a small/thin off-white head was brought to my table, it looked OK. The head left some lacing as I downed the beer. The beer had a mid-range (for the USA) hop bite both in its aroma and taste. It went well with my Sprimps and although the beer could have been sharper (cut throat, see what I did there?), I think the brewer has done a good job considering the handicap of keeping the beer below the 4%ABV Utah insists on.

Nice amber pour with a mid-size head. Aroma is toasted malts, fruits, light citrus, some chocolate, and caramel in the aroma. Flavor has similar properties with the toasted malt and biscuit malt showing through and the fruit joining in. A nice round mouth. Solid.

Draught at the Bard’s/Oddfellows, Cedar City, UT. Clear brownishamber, small head. Mildly roasty with slight grapefruity notes. Medium bodied with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Nice combination of roastiness and mild citrus. Average bitterness.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a fading white head over golden body. Aroma of cooking oil, grass, oatmeal [can’t read writing]. Taste is body odor, soggy grain and noticable metal. Fizzy.

12oz bottle (4% ABV) pours clear deep copper with thin off white to tan head. The mild aroma starts with spicy noble hops followed by sweet to crystal type malts. Like the aroma the taste begins with a quick sting of spicy hop bitterness. A solid roasty to sweet malty note quickly takes over and becomes more and more crystal and caramel as the taste progresses toward the finish. The experienced ends with the addition of a mild floral hop note. This beer seems light on the hops for the style but has plenty of malty goodness.

Foxy-amber with a yellowish head. Toffee and faraway hops, a bit nutty in character. Nutty again in the taste, bready, but with a watery finish, falling flat. Bit spritzy, but also a bit empty. Ho-hum, not really great.

Bottle; Nose with some caramel malt with a hint of hops; rusty colored with a tiny beige head; flavor has a little caramel and some nice hops which last into a mildly bitter finish.
