A beer that has been due to be rebrewed for so long, but has kept slipping through the net at each turn; we first brewed Petal back in those halcyon Loka Polly days when our Augment range was in its infancy, and the word Spendrups was a mere whisper on the wind. Fast forward to July 2020 and Petal has now been revitalised with all the techniques we've learned in the last sixteen months. Sitting quietly with a simple Citra, Ekuanot and Columbus hop bill, this beer strikes out of nowhere with a tidal wave of juicy, tropical dank hoppy notes before mellowing back out with a pleasant amount of bitterness on the end.

Can from Eltham Wines. Hazy orange pour with a white head. Huge citrusy nose, splash of peach yoghurt, nectarine. Taste is orange peel, orange marmalade,apricot, grapefruit. Zesty hoppy finish.

Can from Beer Ambleside. Appearance - murky yellow to orange. Big white fluffy head. Nose - lemon curd, plant stalks. Taste - loads of green resin notes, dank underripe mango. Palate - light to medium bodied. Dry, resin almost astringent finish. Overall - more challenging than usual Polly offering.

Can picked up from Hoptimism, Webshop, Loughborough Leicestershire and consumed at home, Wednesday 19th August 2020 cooking *heating up, a very lazy, Fish Fingers, Chips and Mushy Peas. Pours dirty yellowy colour with a sticky white head. Furry bitterness, really hoppy, mostly citrussy dry and an untypical NEIPA there is more bitterness than juiciness that I am getting, although it is juicy now I have just dived in again. Good.

440ml can at home. Pours a hazy golden amber with a medium to small off white head. Nose is full pineapple, tropical fruit, mango, some lemon. Flavour is almost all pineapple sticky sweet in some areas, juice box tropical fruit. Palate stripping and overly sweet. Long bitter finish.

440ml can. Hazy orange, white head. Aroma of ripe sweet fruits, orange, passionfruit. Taste of sweet, ripe fruits, mango, orange, passionfruit, papaya, pine, light pithy bitterness, light hop burn. Medium body, soft carbonation. Great IPA, would prefer some bitterness to counter that sweetness.

- Can. Hazy gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Airy palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth pale malts, a nice light creamy sweetness. Smooth light pine. Mellow but very pleasing balanced blend of citrus and tropical fruits. Mango, little guava, spicy mellow orange. Plenty more going on underneath. Smooth and semi dry finish. Very good.

Can from Lupe Pintos. Milky golden body with a thin white head. Low carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of Jelly Babies, lime chutney and orange. Flavour of lime jelly, lychee and hop burn. Medium body with a creamy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Loka Polly are getting better and better all the time.
