Fles 33cl thuis gedeeld. Stoofpeertjes, kaneel, beetje drop, kruidig, pepertje, vineus, caramel, bittertje, ergens wat koffie, licht roasted malts. (21-2-2020).

33cl Bottle, thanks Thijs! Almost black colour, beige head. Huge amount of pear chunks floating around. Aroma of cinnamon, roast, stewed pears, mulled wine. Flavour has less pronounced mulled wine character, more malty, caramel, roast, some stewed pear, spicy. Medium bodied. Nice.

Bottled 330ml (Smaakhuis) Dark brown colour, small beige head. Aroma has cocoa, cinnamon, coffee beans and lactose-kind sweetness. Medium-bodied. Flavour is quite similar to aroma. It also has some rye bread and even ginger bread. And perhaps pear. A bit too much spices (cinnamon, clove) for my liking.

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 13 Feb 2019) Dark brown colour, almost black, with frothy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of cacao and coffee. Slightly chemical. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, cacao, coffee, black rye bread and a balanced roasty bitterness. Almost full body, with a slight sweetness. Can't really put the finger on it, but there's something odd and slightly artificial going on here. Still, quite nice.

Dark brown with lasting head. Aroma and flavour are sweet but fortunately not spicy. Nice dessert bier.

0.33 l bottle from 'Het Biermoment', bottled in November 2018. Clear, very dark ruby to black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, pear, nuts and some chocolate. Quite sweet, malty, slightly spicy and a bit fruity taste of caramel, pear, cinnamon, chocolate and some vanilla, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly spicy and a bit roasty finish. Medium to full body, smooth, slightly creamy and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Decent beer, I get the idea but it doesn't convince completely.

Bottle at Maakun’s. Black with tan head. Sweet deep roasted chocolate malts, light cinnamon, massive cloves, yes I taste the cooked pears, rye, massive licorice. Big sweet and big bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation. Bad cocktail of nice ingredients. Plasticcy and “sinterklaasschuimpjes” sweet finish. Good stuff and bad stuff. --- Beer merged from original tick of Fazantisch on 21 Jan 2019 at 17:48 - Score: 6

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro! Very dark brown with dark beige head. Actually some stewed pears which is surprising. Cloves, vanilla, roasted malts, licorice, ash, brown bread, light oily plastic, cinnamon, brown sugar. Over medium sweet and bitter. Over medium bodied with oily feel. There’s a lot of nice stuff here, but also weird oily clove notes that I don’t like. A bit hit and miss in the same beer.
