Bottle RBESG 07 Bottle #841... Deep solid black ... Viscous sweet and rich malt nose ... rich malts nice spirit burn to it lots of roast malt and some woodyness and a little meatyess. Tk2 Bottle #1944 At home ... Deep viscous black ... smokey deep roast malts little rum in nose ... Sweet smooth syrupy and quite a lot of spirit mouth feel... deep dark chocolate and coffee ... very little bitterness quite syrupy. 4.1 ->4.3 This beer for me comes in too big a bottle. It almost demands to be shared. Id love this in a 250ml like Narke Kaggen as then i could open one on my own and slowly sip and savour this to it full potential. While i find this beer stunning id struggle to finish this bottle.... Tk3 bottle 844 at home May 2009 ... deep black thin short lived tan head ... big fruity blackcurrant hop nose ... rich malt ... little fizz ... quite a lot of spirit ... little burn almost chilli... lots of chocolate ... little coffee ... lots of roasts ... little viscous ... Wonderfully rich and complex ... goes lovely with my Sausage (ooooer missus) ... mmmmm beeer Deep deep black ... thin lacing ... big vine fruits ... soft dark chocolate roast ... heavy alcohol ... still quite a bit of fizz to it ... some tobacco ... dark roast ... quite a lot of alcohol ... little spice ... small hints of coffee... once again its going lovely with my sausage ... 4.4 ... we will not see its like again

Bottle # 05108(donated by Hildigöltur!): Literally black, small to medium-sized - slowly diminishing - brownish fluffy head; sweet raisins + other dried fruits, liquorice and leather in the nose; full sweet-bitter flavour, full bodied; fruity vinous finish with added traces of coffee and liquorice. Well rounded, well drinkable "heavy" stuff..............

(50cl bottle, # 05108) Black coloured hue with a brown foamy head of medium size. Moderately sweet, strong roast-malty aroma with light notes of mocha, raisins, licorice and alcohol. Surprisingly sweet flavour, full bodied with a calm carbonation. Roast-malty taste with licorice, mocha and an almost vinous raisin-fruity touch. Sweet and slightly burnt-bitter finish with a warming alcoholic touch. Strong and pleasant (09.IV.09).

Bottle from Sloth, thanks! Dark brown, near black pour with a small brown head. Sweet aroma with light vanilla, chocolate, and a healthy roastiness. Tastes rich and smooth. Sweet, malty, dark fruit, and roasty. Chocolate and light bitters. Outstanding balance. Excellent.

Bottle #01312 Pours out Jet black topped with a tan head. A great aroma of sweetness all over the place Almond Joy. With the vanilla and roast. Tast very nice, brown sugar lots of rich roast and some black licorice. Very nice. A big thanks to Jake

Bottle. Licorice start on the aroma, claret, light oak, vanilla, coffee. Deep black with golden edges, low disappearing brown head. Surprisingly fruity entry on the tongue - tropical fruits, citrus and berries. Port wine, dark cuban rum - gives this a cocktail-like impression. Then coffee and licorice enters, light cigar-tobacco and vanilla finds its way into the nose. Mouthfeel starts oily and slick, but has sufficient dryness to balance it off and it never gets cloying. Actually a quite delicate composition which is really nice in a style where you often find rather brash brews. Well done!

500 ml. Opaque black body with a short, fizzy, tan head. Delicious aroma of coffee, roasted malts, chocolate milk, sugar, caramel and vanilla. Hint of alcohol. The flavor is heavily sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. The finish is moderately to heavily sweet and moderately bitter with lingering alcohol warmth. Lots of chocolate taste in the finish, especially tootsie roll. Medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation. The heavy sweetness of this beer is almost overpowering, but there is just enough bitterness and alcohol pepperiness to counteract. Very good.

courtesy of Tony @ OTH. Pours black, no head. Aroma is malty and chocolate. Taste has plenty of chocolate malts, filled with roasted coffee. Nice vanilla undertone. There are also some subtle notes of barrel/oak? This is a monster abv, but the beer remains very enjoyable to sip.

Bottle #00405 thanks to bu11zeye. My 1000th rating... Pours very thick with a light brown mocha hued head that reduces to waves of foam across the cavernous black body. This beer is so dark, I though the label was black (it is actual see through). Some strong alcoholic legs left on the glass, above tons of dots of lacing, and a brown film from the viscous black liquid in the glass. The aroma is room filing, with dark currants, alcohol burn, licorice, yeast, dark chocolate truffles, and french roast espresso. Taste is...well...wow, Sam Calgonie eat your heart out! Incredibly long duration...easily over two minutes on the first sip. Taste is of currants, sweet butterscotch, brandy, that goes to roasty, then fruity, to nutty, with tons of chocolate, and just enough espresso roast to round out the flavor perfectly. Completely mouthcoating and velvety, light carbonation; a beautifully executed beer.
