On draught: Slightly amber coloured, creamy off-white head with a good lace, complex fruity and aromatic hoppy nose with a touch of molasses; light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied; lingering, dryish fruity-tart and bitter finish. Pleasant session stuff......

Cask. OK aroma. Almost clear grey/brown colour. Very small head. A bit of malt in the flavour along with a good aromatic hoppiness. OK bitter.

[Cask at Charlies] A hazy amber beer with a small amber head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and nicely hoppy. The flavor is roasted and very fruity, lemon as well as hints of grapefruit, coming from the nice aroma hop, the flavor also contains notes of caramel, and has a nice dry end. The body is thin.

Cask at County Hotel (JDW) Ashford. Not quite ready to be on yet, but still passable even for that. Ruby brown with off white head, good balance of malt and hops. Malt on Nose and in mouth with dry bitter hop finish. After a long day at work, it was very welcome to find this beer.

I've had very few English Milds, and this is close to what I've always imagined them to be: a well-balanced light bodied and easy drinking ale, that maintains flavor and a degree of complexity. Aroma was mildly hoppy with earthy notes and some clean malts. Flavor was well balanced with sweet caramelish malts and earthy peppery hops. Clean finish. Light body. Reddish amber color, medium head and nice lacing.

Malty pale ale with an almost chalky note and plenty of yeasty complexity...
