We couldn't stand against the call of stout. So we are back. Back to Black is dry, roasted, coffee-like as t should be. The best option for those who adore classics or consider Guinness the ideal beer. Sessionable and smooth this beer can be enjoyed over friends talks all evening long if you wish so.

330ml bottle, Chez Sophie. Pours black, beige head. Aroma of liquorice, molasses. Continues to taste, a little thin on flavour, burnt bitterness on the finish.. more malt depth would be good.

33cl bottle from Sophie's Beerstore: Bottled on 21st January 2022. Drank at home on 9th November 2022, poured into an old 'Chimay' goblet/chalice. Tanned topping, black bodied. Dry malty, leathery taste, aroma malty also; some coffee and chocolate flavours, but I'm getting bicycle seats mostly!

330ml bottle delivered from Beautiful Beers and drunk at home. Brownish black, very little translucency with an uneven ring of khaki head. Dark roasted malt in the aroma with some stone fruit and cigarette ash. Bittersweet taste with more ashy character and suitably dry finish. Body’s pretty thin, with soft to medium carbonation. Starts off a bit blasé but it certainly grows on me.

2/7/2022. Bottle shared at fonefan tasting. From Beer Central, Sheffield. Pours close to black with a frothy beige head. Good looking beer. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, dark fruits, wood. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Light to moderate body, quite watery, above average carbonation. Quite enjoyed it, but it lacked some depth.
