Aus der Dose im 2021-03 getrunken. Was ist das für eine süße Kokos-Brühe? Nein als Fan des 2016/17er Barley Wine von Lervig hatte ich so was nicht erwarted und scho gar nicht für diesen Preis. Aber gut nach dem der Schock vorbei ist kann man sich an diese dominierenden Kokosaroma gewöhnen und der malzige fast typische Barley Wine-Noten kommen durch. Der Alkoholgehalt ist sehr gut eingebunden was diees Ale sehr gut tut. Ein immernoch gutes Ale doch Lervig kann diesen Bierstil deutlich besser.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Dark brown colour, minimal head. Aroma of molasses, caramel and oak, hints of dark dried fruits. Sweet flavour with the same elements, also distinct notes of bourbon whiskey and vanilla. Warming mouthfeel. Nice beer.

Can. A hazy orange brown beer with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted dark malt, coconut, caramel and vanilla. Taste of sweet dark malt, coconut, vanilla, caramel, boozy finish.

Can. A brown, hazy beer with a minimal sized beige head. Rather oily pour. The aroma has coconut, vanilla, roasted malts chocolate and caramel, as well as boozy alcohol. It's full-bodied and warming on the palate, with a very soft carbonation. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, lots of caramel, coconut and some vanilla in the flavor, with a lasting coconut and caramel finish. In a way this one reminds me of the red Bounty chocolate bar, except it's warming and boozy. Too much going on at the same time here, still nice. 201231

2020-12-29: Can at home. Pours clear dark reddish copper with little off-white head. Aroma of cinnamon, red wine, bourbon, caramel, some ethanol. Tastes slightly sweet with balancing bitterness. Medium bodied, alcoholic warmth. 2024-01-23: Vintage 2020 - On tap at Lervig Local, Stavanger. Pours dark brown with beige head. Aroma of coconuts, dark dried fruits, cinnamon, vanilla, honey, some ethanol. Tastes sweet with some umami and a little bitterness. Medium bodied, alcoholic warmth, medium carbonation.

Black, with a minimal light brown head. Lots of spices aroma, some chocolate and wooden barrels sense. Sweet with a warm spices and wooden barrels end.
