This gueuze is obtained by mixing ('versnijden'), young and old lambiek. It achieves a beautiful balance between sweet, sour and slightly bitter, which makes it an ideal thirst quencher on hot and humid summer days. It is only mildly sour with touches of citrus, strawberry and caramelised grains.

So now available in the UK. Tesco, Brooklands. Low key aroma combines vinous sulphur and wet cardboard with a dose of sugary sweetness. Bright amber. Foam head bubbles away with life. Initial medium sourness is swiftly followed by fruity sweetness. Albeit a sour vinegary edge remains throughout. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Lifted by soft-fizzy carbonation. Slightly astringent but relatively abrupt finish. Nice enough if basic.

0.25 bottle. The beer is more beautiful than the castle, it is amber in color, and a handful of foam remains thick throughout. Label is a bit crappy. Its aroma is sour, but malt and hops are also clearly felt. Carbonated, moderately full-bodied. It tastes sour, acidic base, but towards the end, standing, sweet and delicate hop flavors also emerge. Overall a pleasant disappointment.

A várnál szebb a sör, borostyán szín, ujjnyi vastagan végig megmaradó hab. Címke kicsit gagyi. Illata savanykás, de maláta és komló is egyértelműen érezhető. Szénsavas, közepesen testes. Ízre savanykás, savas alap, de a vége felé, állva , édeskés és finom komlós ízek is előjönnek. Összességében kellemes csalódás.

Bottle from Tesco (!). Nose is earth, cheese, candy sugar, pear drops, gentle funk, cherry , floral. Taste is light earth, sweetener (why?!?!) candy sugar, light funk, sugar, light cherry, malt, caramel. It's genuinely atrocious, a sweet sugared mess.

375ml bottle. Pours dark orange with a medium head. Aroma is lemonade, cheese and candy sugars. Taste is lightly sour lemonade throughout with a sweet, candy finish.

Clean, amber colored and filtered and somewhat malt forward gueze. the sourness is medium-low, but it is a nice touch. not the most flavourful for the style, but nothing off. online belgian beer factory bottle.

250 ml bottle as St. Louis Premium Geuze, best before 08.2017. Clear amber coloured, small head. Apple, tart, some light vinegar notes, wood, cork, sweeteners. Light sourness and sweetness. Light bodied, lively carbonated, dry sweet finish. Not good.

Amber colour with thin head. Aroma has a mix of some sweet malt, vinegar and floral honey. Flavour is quite sweet. Not awful but misses some sharpness and dryness.

[as St. Louis Premium Gueuze] Il gusto al naso resta catturato dall'acetico. L'olfatto viene sollecitato in maniera elevata e la costanza olfattiva è sufficiente. Il cappello di schiuma non è molto persistente. La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. Il liquido è di consistenza limpida. Bollicine fini costituiscono la forma del perlage. Il colore è ramato. Il corpo è pieno. L'amaro è deciso. L'intensità gustativa è elevata. La continuità gustativa è buona. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali sono lunghe. Il retrogusto è intenso. In bocca l'aroma è quello di caramello, miele, cereali, frutta secca, agrumi, aromi dello scantinato, acetoso, verdure cotte e zenzero.
