Legend has it that a giant named Bolster once terrorised St Agnes. When he was finally slain, his blood was jet black. Yikes!

This is a rich, dark porter with strong roast flavours, packed with spicy and fruity hops.

500ml bottle. Gluten Free. Dark brown colour, tan foam head leaving some lacing and aroma of malt, dark fruits, earthy. Taste is sweet, roasty, rich malt, tangy, with dried fruit, liquorice, and earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

Third by cask, shared with Finn on the third day of GBBF 2020 Winter, Iron Bridge Bar. A rustic shade to dark coloured body. Filmy layer, dotted spots on the glass. Promising malt-fruity aromas, dark plums and earthy malts. Rather sweet dark malty flavours added by dried fruits. Ends malt-fruity, semi-sweet. Quite alright. (Birmingham 06.02.2020).

På GBBF Winter 2020 i Birmingham. Delt med Rune. Ultramørkebrun / svart. Filmskum med farge. Aroma av krydder & lettrøstet malt. Smaken nøtter & tørket frukt. Tørr avslutning med hint av nøtter & kirsebær.

Pigs Ear! Clear dark brown beer. Light soft palate. Bitterish toffee balanced well by distinctly peppery hops - quite spicy!

Bottle. Dull, flat light brown. Deep overripe fruity notes on the nose. Fairly deep, fruity character, maybe some cocoa. Fairly simple character. Not my type of porter.

Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear BF 09. Ruby colour. Orange pepper and spice on aroma. A bitter with some spicy pepper. I know it says its a porter, but not convinced there is enough choc malt.
