From wooden cask (gravity) @ #MBCF20, [ Manchester Beer & Cider Festival 2020 ], Manchester Central Convention Complex, Windmill St, Petersfield, M2 3GX Manchester, Great Manchester, England.

[ As Five Towns Baby Blue ].
ABV: 4.5%. Clear medium yellow colour with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, wood, oak. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, oak, wood, fruity malt, earthy, bread, pale malt. IMO: not much is going on here .. so why put a weak aroma and flavor less blond ale on a wooden cask ! Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20200123]

From wooden cask, third shared with Finn at Manchester Beer & Cider Festival, Wood Bar. Bright golden body, fair laving from a dissipating head. Moderate aromas of canned fruits. Lemony hops to the taste profile, grainy support. Malt-fruity finish. Fair enough. (2nd day of the festival, 23.01.2020).

Wakefield Beer Festival 2016. Lighter golden coloured with a session texture. A tad weak tasting in its hoppy character.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Murky yellow. No head. Looks grim. Aroma doesn’t improve things. Taste has some (presumably unintended) acidity. Frustrating that a beer from this brewer is sometimes verging on drain pour, like this, when at other times they’re so good.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - golden with a very generous head. Nose - dry lemon sorbet with wild yeast kicking in again. Taste - massive lemon sorbet note which is kinda acceptable. Almost salty. Palate - light zingy texture long dry texture through to the finish. Overall - not a golden ale as I understand them. Wild yeast thing again.

Cask at CPK, London. Pours clear, pale yellow with a faint foam head. Toasty grain nose with some dry straw. Light to medium sweet flavor with some dry, hay bitterness and mild lemon. Light in body with fine carbonation. Mild dry finish with some toasty straw and mild, dried lemon. Decent golden ale on the whole.
