(bottle, as Schönramer Weisse) Hazy, amber colour with a big and off-white foamy head. Aroma of ripe banana with bready malt, mildly wheaty notes, shades of soy sauce and spices. Mildly sweet and delicately bitter and tart flavour, medium to light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slightly bready malty base with a mild wheat character, traces of caramel, banana fruitiness and phenolic spices; slightly tart during the finish. Not my favourite Schönramer brew. 26.IV.18

The Sampler, NY bottle: pours dark hold with large white head. Aroma is banana and other ripe fruits. Somewhat sweet. Kind of spicy. Low hops. Not a bad example of the style.

Pours hazy light orange from the bottle. Crazy amounts of visible carbonation. The aroma is all ripe banana. Taste is banana sweet, with a light apple tartness. Nice. Noticeable swings in the palate as the relatively high carbonation fizzles out. The beer felt relatively flat near the end, although my session with it did go a little over 30 minutes. I didn’t like the beer at the outset, changed my mind by minute 15, but began to have doubts again at the end. Okay.
