500ml bottle from Harry Tuffins after a ride at Bucknell Woods. Pours gold, loose bubbly white head. Cereal malt aroma. Light bodied with that distinctive Monty's malt providing much of the overall character of the beer, rounded with a gentle bitterness. Ok sessionable bitter, just a little thin on flavour in bottle.

On cask at the Architect, Chester. Appearance - golden amber with a nice fluffy head. Nose - cereal and an unexpected sweet fruit note. Strawberry is closest. Taste - strawberry confirmed. Brown bread. Palate - light to medium bodied. Creamy and slightly sweet middle. Overall - a bit sweet for my palate.

Cask ale, half-pint, shared with Finn at Lime Kiln. Filmy layer, fragile lacing, Clear straw coloured body. Restrained aroma of ripe fruits. Hints of pineapple and grapefruit to the flavour profile. Lightly hop fruity end. Accepted. (Sunday pub crawl in Bristol 30.04.2017).

36th CAMRA Cotswold beer festival (July 2012) in the lovely 15th century Tithe Barn: the setting for my tasting of this beer. Gravity poured half-pint: pale amber body with next to no head, looked a bit insipid to be honest. The nose was also thin: some citrusy hints maybe but not much of anything really. It tasted OK: dry and refreshing with a mildly hop feel to the flavour, surrounded by so many ‘more flavoursome brews’ at the beer festival this didn’t really stand a chance with its timid depth and lack of true ‘umph’: but I’ve tried to score it objectively.
