Saison is a Belgian beer style, which used to be brewed during winter on farms for consumption in spring, summer and fall. Our Saison is light and fruity, which makes it the perfect company for seafood. You could enjoy this ale in the shades of pine trees on Srebrna beach, listening to the sounds of the sea and caressed by the mistral. If you can’t make it there, close your eyes and let Prvo viško pivo take you there. 13°P

Looks really nice this one. Unclear yellow golden color with a fine white head. Good intensity in the aroma. Medium (+) body and an average carbonation level. Pleasant acidity and a semi dry texture. Good balance here. Citric, yeast, some spices and fruity flavor. A new Croatian favorite.

Draft @ Pivo & Burger Fest Oct’16, Ljubljana.

On tap at makro Beer Fest in maribor. Pours a hazy yellow color, topped with a medium sized white head, ok retention. Yeasty notes in the nose, quite noticeable. Mild bitterness with quite present spicy feel. Medium body. Not bad, but nothing special, really.

Bottle. It pours a more or less clear body, golden in color and with a dense, finger-thick white head on top. Some lacing. The aroma is very fruity, with citrus, pine cones, resins, hay, straw and pale malts. Lightly spiced, yeasty notes too. It’s a bit effervescent, with a nice body fullness. It’s dry and nicely bittered, with mostly fruity flavors. Pine cones, resins and citrus zest and some pale malts flavor, where there’s peppery yeast in the back. Lasting quite dry finish with a good bitterness helping to clean up the palate. A really pleasant one, both tasteful and sort of quenching, even though it weighs in at 6.5% ABV. 160910

Bottled 330ml. -from Magic Beer Room Zagreb. Unclear yellow coloured, medium sized white head, fruity yeasty nose. Sweetism malty, yeasty, citrusy hoppy, light banana and touch of spices with mild phenolic notes in the finish. Bitter finish as well. Pleasant brew but simply I can’t find myself in this style for better rate.

A 0.33 l bottle from Mali Ducan, Split. It poured a hazy yellow body with a bigger head. Lemon aroma, some fruits and yeast, not particularly strong. As it warmed, a touch of tropical fruit hops emerged. Flavor was grass and pine bitter with very interesting black pepper note which survived long into the aftertaste. Citrus and more mellow hops intertwined with malty base of biscuit and fruits, apricot, banana. Inclining to a wit with a classic pale ale touch. Not very rich, but complex, only thin to medium bodied. Very long, pine and herbal bitter, dry finish. Light sweetness still rounded it up at the very end with aforementioned pepper. Classic saisons are generally not my thing, too thin, subtle and uninteresting, but I enjoy these very hoppy varieties. When the base is not bland and boring by itself, with some hops it might turn out perfect like this one. Awesome, possibly my best saison ever!

Bottle, 6.5%. Citric and clovey aroma. Hazy golden colour. Small white head. The flavour has clove and a distinct bitterness. Late citric notes, some yeast. Not very funky or citric, but nicely rustic, not to say unclean. Slightly high carbonation, suits the beer well.
