Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - deep orange with a nice fluffy head. Nose - orange and resin. Some pine. Taste - orange again, a bit dank this time. Green notes too. Palate - light to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - Nose better than taste but still good.

500ml bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. From Beers of Europe. Pours hazy golden orange with a thick white head. Aromas of resin and orange, light sherbet. Taste is sharp zesty orange, marmalade sweetness, light dankness. Not bad for the strength.

Bottle from Real Ale Store Newark and drunk at home. Clear amber lasting beige head. Smells of sherbert and hops. It’s lovely in the mouth. Brilliant English version of an American IPA. Light in body and feel. Not too malty and just hop all over it. Bitter on finish. Some grapefruit. Can’t taste the ABV. Wow, so impressed this is lovely. Good beer. Surprise of the week. Loved it, so drinkable.

Bottle, gift from Andrew. Hazy amber body with a fragile off-white head. Steady carbonation. Nice lacing. Aroma of musty orange, pine and a hint of banana. Flavour of Brett yeast, orange and a slightly boozy finish. Medium body with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Light fizz. A nice Belgian style IPA.

Bottle at the Night of Garbage, big thanks to Leighton the stair case fiend, 20/12/13. Hazed orange amber with a thin off white covering. Nose is light plastic, orange sherbet, citric fruits, grassy. Taste comprises peaches, orange pith, mineral bite, toasted malts, earthy hops. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry grassy bitterness in the finale. Ok stuff.

Bottle thanks to Leighton at the Night of Garbage. It pours lightly hazy golden-amber with a small beige head. The nose is orange sponge cake, toasty, muffin and marmalade. The taste is bitter-sweet, pine, orange peel, minerals, decent bitterness, resin and tangy citrus with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Fine.

500ml Bottle conditioned: BBD Apr 14. Poured into a tall ’8 Sail Brewery’ badged pint glass at home on 20th Dec 13. Nice little story on the well made wrap around label. This is a beer in the ’Deacon John Ales’ series and I’d like some more of them. Pours a hazy amber with a staying off-white head, I left most of the sediment in the bottle, even so it was still a cloudy brew. Intense hop aroma and taste (very West Coast): bitter and tasty. I also got good old farmyard smells and tastes from the beer. Medium bodied and it hid the alcohol very well: I’m warming to this brewery.

Nice beer.

Hazy amber beer with a small pale cream coloured head. Palate is smooth with fine minerally carbonation. Smooth malt with a whisper of cream. Nicely balanced hops. Orange and orange marmalade. Touch of lemon and floral notes. Finishes smooth. Well joined up and pretty drinkable.
