Keg at the Cardinal - Stavanger. Pours clear yellow-gold with a creamy white head. Biscuits and cereal in the aroma, straw. Light-medium sweet flavor with simple doughy sugars, white bread, crispy cereal, hay. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, fairly clean, with more biscuits and cereal, slight grass, hints of tangerine. Solid kolsch. I can’t really fault it.

Frisk fruktig lukt med preg av lys malt, humle, litt høy og sitrus. Sødmerik smak med preg av lys malt, humle, korn og blomster. Middels bitterhet og lengde. God og leskande.

Lyst og lett, forfriskende. Fint skum som imidlertid gir seg fort. Ble raskt litt flatt i smaken. Trenger ikke prøve den igjen. Nytt forsøk fra fat på Cardinaltreff juni-13: kjelleraroma og ufrisk smak, med industrell, pilsneraktig avslutning. Ikke særlig god. Ned fra 2.7 til 2.4. Fra fat på Cardinal juni-14: mye bedre enn forrige gang, dette er en lett og frisk start på Mandag i annen.Litt metallisk ettersmak men allikevel opp til 2.9.

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger in June 2011. Slightly hazy golden with a small white head. Both the aroma and taste were mild. Grass, fruit some malt and also some light notes of hops. Dry finish with a medium bitterness. Drinkable and rather refreshing.

Two 500ml bottles from Fenaknoken shared with Eva as a fine partner to pizza. Great foamy eggshell head reduced to a filmy layer after a short while. Hazy, pale yellow body. Light smell of fresh grassy hops. Very mild and gentle flavour of sherbet hops with backdrops of lemon and peach. Dry ending. Medium mouthfeel and easy drinking (05.07.2008).

Biggish offwhite head. Hazy yellow body. Dense mealy fruity rubbery grassy aroma, quite harmonic, with malty notes. Dry-sweet rubbery floral grassy taste with fruity bready notes. Sharp edge to it. A bit stale. Dry grassy aftertaste with chalky notes. Nice, but kölsch isn’t really my thing. (0.5l bottle from Fenaknoken.)

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Bottle conditioned, ABV is 4.7%. Pale golden colour, fairly clear, only a faint haziness in the end. Decent white head. Fruity aroma (apples and citrus). The flavour is also fruity with some peppery hops. Like other kölsches it is a nice and refreshing beer, but not really very exciting. Might be a gateway beer for pale lager drinkers into the world of ales.

Bottle. Clear, pale golden, maybe even yellow body, with a small, creamy, white head. The aroma is quite citrusy from the hops, but there’s also some pale malt in it. The same goes for the flavor. The mouthfeel is quite thin, as expected. Pleasant finish, some pale malt and fruityness. A quite pleasant beer, with a nice fruityness. Probably very nice in the summmer heat. Definately a postitive first meeting with Ægir. (070906)
