Canette 500ml.

Foamy white head, rich yellow color, moldy flavor, mild carbonation, abrupt finish. Nice pilsner.

On tap somewhere in the Kanata area. Okay amber-orange body with modest on-tap head as you’d expect. The flavour is quite hoppy with a bit of a malt finish; not quite a pilsner, more of an English bitter or an amber lager; drinkable nonetheless.

Served in pint glass @ a bar in Toronto. Nice golden-straw color with a pure white head that lingered. I sense some hay in the nose - and well-rounded deep malts. I gets lots of grain with this beer and am surprisingly happy with the aroma. This is a crisp pilsner that impresses me. True to style.

Glass, 20 ounces, draught, at The cottage and a kitchen on August 22 2008; eye: clear, golden, tiny ring of white head, light lacing; nose: corn, light hops, malt; mouth: corn, hops, light malt, light caramel, unpleasant harsh finale in corn with a hint of hops, rather carbonated, medium body, lightly bitter, slightly sweet; overall: so?

On tap at various Toronto bars. A very enjoyable Bohemian-style pils. Relatively sweet and malty, with a buttery creaminess and good hoppy balance. A round, rich pilsner flavor. Flavorful, relatively full-bodied, and tasty. Best lager I have had in Canada so far!

bottle - The brewer, in name and very much so on their web site, is very explicit about how they brew one beer, the best pilsner they can brew. So... ratebeer calls it a premium lager. Ok then. Style quibbles aside, as it doesn’t really matter, it pours pale gold with a thin, lingering white head. The aroma is mild and mostly malt with a hint of hops lurking in there. The flavor is mostly sweet malts with some mild, somewhat crisp hops. Light bodied and easy drinking, it’s a decent quaff, but as others have pointed out probably overpriced for the quality.
