Das Schönramer Pils ist stärker gehopft als die Fernsehbiere unserer nördlichen Nachbarn. Edelste und teuerste bayrische Aromahopfen lassen die Bittere angenehmer und harmonischer empfinden.

Bottle. Fine aromatic hop aroma. Pale golden, fine carbonation, low white head. Citric hop on chewy malt, fine sparkly mouthfeel. Nice aromatic pils.

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, pale golden colour with a short foamy white head. Mildly sweet malty aroma with a good dash of herbal and resiny hops. Moderately bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a crisp carbonation. Soft pale malty base with profound German hops from the beginning; quite dry, mildly sweet and hop bitter finish with herbal and resiny accents. A quaffable Pilsener. 01.XII.10

Bottle (from Jonas!): Pale greenish golden, a bit unclear, quite stable mid-sized bleached head; moderate to solid aromatic herbal-hoppy nose, backed by a good dash of sweet pale malt; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied; pronounced aromatic hoppiness in the lingering bitter-sweet finish. Gorgeous Pils, lightyears away from the usual german Veltins, Bitburger and Radeberger swill..... Totally underrated!!! Simply the best german Pils, using a nearly perfect mix of excellent noble hops. Even better than Augustiner or Fiege. I like it to soup it up with the also gorgeous Fiege PILSBOCK...

Draught Good dense, lightly yellow head; well-carbonated golden beer. Again Ge noble hops, if maybe a bit less prominent than in the Helles. Very dry, with a very delicate balance hops - pale malts. Bit aggressive carbonation, light to medium bodied, slick, with a very dry finish. Good Pilsener, which could held its own with any of the Nortern German classics.

33cl Bottle, bought in Rome. Pale golden colour, white head. Aroma of bready and pale malts, grassy and light spicy hops. Flavour is light bready, malty, hoppy finish with a grassy aftertaste. Good bitterness, just a bit overcarbonated. Light bodied.

11.2 oz bottle from Country Club Liquors; Nose of grassy hops, with a lillte grainy sweetness; urine yellow with a small white head; flavor has some pepperiness, light hop bitterness, and a very light honey note.

Bottle; bb 27/07/07 (pushed this to the end). Clean aroma of grassy or floral hop, but not a strong one. Light brassy gold color with a serious white head that tries to lace. Thin to medium bodied. A bit of strength in the carbonation, but little bite. It goes a bit creamy. The flavor is pale malt with what might be noble hop. The finish is fairly dry, clean and the hop is there for balance. The long finish is quite dry with a decent amount of bitter.

Last of the pilsners from Hollingshead Deli, purchased there and consumed later that night at Dr. Bill’s lovely abode on 3/22/07
Ok, this one should be the best of any of them, having a best before date of 2009. Not sure why any brewery would give a best before date of 2009 on a pils when it’s only 2007, but whatever, that’s what it said.
Very encouraging appearance boasts a deep golden body with darker honey tones and a very large, frothy white head that is well-retained and provides moderate lacing.
Tons of lemon icing and intensely herbal hops in the nose signify a very straightforward CGP. Dryness seems right away to be on the low side, but there’s a ton of yeast crispness on the finish that bails it out, somewhat. A bit carbonic, and with some definite paperiness, however. Medium strength of aroma, no alcohol.
Lemon and pear notes in the flavor collide with plenty of honey. It dries out significantly through the middle, thanks to a lightly grainy (somewhat crackery) malt character and a strong carbonic flavor (producing a dry and watery feel, unfortunately). Medium-high carbonation, with the hops lasting well in to the finish. But theyre not exactly bursting with freshness and bright character. They seem a bit too old/fruity-like and the finish ends with a slight metallic note, even. Drinkable, but nothing exceptionally well-made, despite its obvious traditional intentions.

Bottle. Very light yellow straw colored beer with a nice white head. Low aroma - some malt and hops, but not much of anything. Nice malt (slightly sweet) flavor with lots of floral, spicey hops. Medium bodied leaving a bit of a bready note.

A light yellow beer with a nice white head. The aroma is sour hoppy - it might be what is described on the bottle as the finest hops - that I don’t like. The flavor is sweet and dry malty with a slightly sticky mouthfeel.
