Bottle from The Curious Hop, Otley. Pours a light golden/straw colour with a medium sized throthy white head. Aromas of hay, grass, straw and lemon. Taste has more lemon and grassy hop bitterness.Lightish body, fair carbonation, slightly oily mouthfeel and a grassy finish. Nice refreshing Pils.

Bottle from House of Trembling Madness. It pours clear very pale almost luminous yellow with a small white cap. The aroma is fresh and grassy, grainy and peppery, rope, straw and some white bread. The taste is crisp, firmly dry, clean, nice level of bitterness, peppery spice, hay and plenty of grass with a lingering bitter - dry finish. Average body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Really like the dryness and bitterness of this. Tastes nice and fresh.

Very refreshing, bitter, hoppy and crispy pils. Very nice, one of the best traditional German pilsners around.

Classic Bavarian Pilsener from the Private Landbrauerei Schönram, established in 1780. From tap at GIST in Brussels, thanks Tessa for sharing. Snow white, lacing, thick, mousy head, lightly misty apricot-tinged deep ‘old gold’, darker than average for the style. Aroma of sweet white bread pulp, flour, cold potato mash, fresh camomile and a vague whiff of DMS (cooked broccoli). Cereally-sweetish onset, very subtle pear-like fruity touch somewhere, fizzy carb, supple and quite soft and ‘full’ mouthfeel for the style, very lightly bready from the diffuse yeast suspension; touch of camomile-like floral hops in the end, but the bitterness remains very soft, with minerally and sweetish-grainy aspects lingering behind. Typical old school south German Pilsener indeed, with soft character and mild hop bitterness, much like the original Bohemian substyle; I would obviously prefer this over any mass-marketed industrial lager.

Bottle. Pale blonde. Soft floral aroma. Firm floral hopbitter flavor. Just a hint of cardboard. Should be good fresh from tap.

5 August 2019. 50cl bottle provided by Maarten - many thanks! Best before: 21/5/19. Pours clear golden with a lasting, very thin, foamy, white head. Aroma of citrus, apple, bread, yeast & grain. Taste is medium malty sweet, notes of apple, bread & sweet yeast; soft grainy bitterness & citric sourness leading to a dryish finish that is yeasty & a bit fruity. Light to medium body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Decent Pilsener.
