Bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout blended with bourbon barrel-aged sour stout with marshmallow, cacao, graham cracker, and vanilla

S’more BBLs is the next up in the BBLs lineage. This member-exclusive beer is one of the world’s highest ABV sour beers; and was conceptualized as a Bruery Terreux homage to our tradition of brewing high gravity, barrel-aged stouts. This big, viscous sour beer is a carefully crafted blend of Tart of Darkness & Black Tuesday, aged with marshmallow, graham crackers, cacao nib, and vanilla. Inspired by the the flavors of the gooey, decadent campfire dessert with which it shares its name. One sip will have you asking for… s’more.

2019. Tap at Goblet w/Hrabren. Oily black body, no head. Alcohol and chocolate dough in the aroma. Lovely, lovely chocolate praline raste, simple but very, tasty, Kraš Griotte, vague ?wine barrel? Excellent!

On tap at Goblet Zagreb. Pitch black coloured, minimal brownish head, chocolate, barrel, dried fruits and alcohol in the nose. Quite complex taste; roasted malt, chocolate, barrel, spices, jam like dried fruits, etc with moderate alcohol presence. Oily and sugary.

(Keg, 2019 vintage, at Panema Kallio, 20200211) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, vanilla, dark chocolates filled with booze and cocoa with cream. Palate was full bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were booze filled chocolates, vanilla, burnt malts, sweetness, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was boozy and sweet. A rather messy brew.

Tap at Beer Stars 2/2020. Intense AF. Full body, med-light carbonation. Strong sweetness, balanced slightly by moderate warmth. Overall ABV hidden well though, considering the number. Light sourness present, along with woodiness. Med-light roastiness, dark chocolate most of all. Med-light fruity berryish character, dark berries. Very very good, even though maybe a bit of an overkill.

Not normally crazy about sour stouts, but this goes down nicely. Certainly a flavor bomb, rich chocolate, booze, dark fruit, something caramelly. Good balance between sweet and sour.

Keg at Tilt, Brum. Pours pitch black with a small head. Aroma is heavy borbon, honey and coffee with ashy sour notes. Taste has sweet and slightly sour honey, vanilla and blueberry start. Ashy sweet and sour honey and bourbon finish.
