Cask, half-pint shared with Finn at Borough Arms. A beige head blanketing the glass. Clear mahogany body. Semi sweet smell of doughy malts, hints of nuts. Caramel malts flavours, hints of dark fruits. Mid-sweet malt-driven finish. Satisfying. (Crewe 26.01.2020).

Danke an minutemat. Trockener, röstmalzig herber Antrunk. Süffig, steigend bitter, geringe Würzigkeit. Das Röstmalz steigt an, unterliegt aber der Bitterkeit. Nett. 9/10/10/11/9/10

Bottle (Aldi). Reddish brown with an inch of pale beige head that lasts very well. Aroma of brown bread, some roasted malt, grapefruit. Decent body but not oversweet. Certainly bittersweet though with mild roast, spices and citrus coming through at the drying end. Not bad but a bit wearing.

500ml bottle into shaker. From ALDI, Riverwood. Pours mahogany red with a large crown of foam on top. Light carbonation. Nose is dark chocolate and smoky caramel malt. Light body, more dark chocolate and malt then cocoa in the finish. A hint of orange right at the end. Nice, straightforward easy-drinking ale.
