Hand-pulled half-pint under the new name and pump font of ’Hereford Brewery, Muttley’s Revenge’ and at 4.8% ABV @ The Firs Club, Codsall: during their beer festival on 17 Nov 2012. Nice looking brew: deep amber with a ruby tint highlight: on top a full head of creamy foam (also cream in colour). Malty notes hit the nose: caramel and roasted peanuts with a toffee coating came to mind. The taste is also malts foremost: semi-sweet molasses with a fruit and nut chocolate bar feel at first, then a slight hop bitterness arrives towards the end of each sip. Well balanced and easy to drink.

Cask at the Claude du Vall (JDW), Camberley - stated ABV 4.8% Golden amber with a dense cream head; soft and creamy in texture; with a soft lactic malty flavour as well with some caramel; the finish has some light hops and is biscuity. A rather average bitter.

Bottle picked up farm shop somewhere between Hereford and Loz’s sister’s at Winforton Erupts with an Etna like larval flow, pumping and oozing white billows of larval beer and foam. Looks for all the world like a watered down oxtail soup with yeasty floaters zipping around in this larval flow, neither Loz or her mum thought that I should drink it and to be honest I can’t blame them for the advice but never the coward I decided to get stuck in. This tasted amazingly better than its looks suggested, ok so it was fairly uninspiring sweet, malty, slightly tangy oxtail soup and served cold Gazpach style but I happily drank most of it, it was ok.

Cask @ County Hotel (JDW) Ashford. Golden brown colour, good hoppy nose, some citric grapefruit, ok in mouth with slightly acidic touch. Good hoppy tangy grapefruit bit on finish.
