A well rounded golden ale; toffee and fresh hop on the nose; biscuity with some spice in the taste and very refreshing.

Blaydon Brick” was the “nick-name” for the popular cloth capped 19th century MP for Newcastle, Joseph Cowen Jnr. A son of Blaydon; he was a friend to Garibaldi, Mazzini, the working man, and anyone at that time whose rights were suppressed!

Cask at House of Hop, Darlington. Golden amber colour, white foam head and aroma of malt, straw. Taste is malt, toffee, fruity, with straw and earthy hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying bitter finish. Quite drinkable

21/6/2021. Bottle from CentrAle, Newcastle. Shared with SHIG and Dana at the Suffolk Solstice beer share. Pours clear bright amber with a small frothy white head. Aroma of malt, hops, earthy notes, caramel, butter, cardboard. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Moderate body, slight watery texture, average carbonation. Slight harsh nose but tasted good.

Bottle shared during the Suffolk Solstice meet up: Poured an unclear golden with a white head. Aroma is malty, caramel, cardboard. Taste is caramel, toffee, malty.

Cask gravity at the Watford beer festival 2018. A clear golden orange coloured pour with a lasting off almost white head. Aroma is semi sweet, dusty, earthy malts, raisin. Flavour is composed of nutty malts, apple, earthy toasted, spicy nettle. Palate is semi sweet decent cask condition. Ok.

Cask at the Sun Hotel, Warkworth. Pours clear golden amber with a thin white head. Aromas of caramel and faint pine. Taste has a light spiciness on top. Thin finish.

Tried at a small tea shop at Robin Hoods Bay. Golden colour with a white head. Light malty caramel aroma and taste with a touch of dried fruity. Thin body.

Oldham Beer Festival 2016. Clear golden-amber in colot. Has an easy-drinking texture with a grainy sweetness in both aroma and taste.

Cask (Red House, Newcastle) - Golden in colour. Sultanas and earthy hops in the aroma. Nicely balanced taste with sultanas and apricot standing out.

Pigs Ear. Cask. Hazy gold beer. Small bubbly pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and dry. Dry pale malt. Mild dried fruits and a light touch of hard candy fruits. Some marmalade bitterness provides balance. Dry finish. Decent.
