Bottle. Clear dark golden body with a small off-white head. Aroma has caramel malt mostly. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, some general fruitiness and mild bitterness. Medium body and average aftertaste with a little hint of iron towards the end.

1/6/2023. Cask at the 36th Colchester Real Ale & Cider Festival. Pours hazy dark golden amber with a small bubbly/frothy off-white head. Aroma is fruity, orange, caramel, nettles, mashed tropical notes. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, average to soft carbonation. Nice dry fruity finish. Pretty good.

Bottle at home on 13th January 2019; Christmas gift. Pours dark amber with almost no head or lace. Rich, nutty malt aroma. Nutty maltiness in-mouth and throughout the finish. A light body and engaging texture. A fine, quaffable ale.8-3-7-4-16 Re-rating December 2023 Cask at the Crown, Penzance on 23rd December 2023. Deep copper with shallow off-white foam and spot lacing. Malty aroma with a little leafy hop and a hint of soapiness. Fruity in-mouth with stone and orchard fruits on a sweetish malt. A fruity finish. Medium bodied with an engaging texture. 7-3-7-4-14

KØLF 021118. Pale amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is bread, pine, malt. Flavor is bread, pine, malt, caramel, fruit, toast, nuts. Medium body. Ordinary beer.

Cask at the Crown Inn, Penzance. It pours clear rich amber with a decent white head. The nose is fresh, brown bread, fruit bun, earth and caramel. The taste is firmly bitterness, earthy, brown bread, hot cross bun, peppery spice, leather and caramel undertones with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A well crafted bitter.

500ml bottle from The beer shop at the Pheasantry Brewery. Deep Amber colour with an off white head. Aroma has biscuity malt and fruit. The taste is mid sweet.

Bottle from the Bottle Bank. Appearance - hazy amber with a decent head. Nose - hazelnuts and biscuits. Hobnobs! Taste - more of the same if a little less intense. Palate - light to medium bodied with a crunchy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - solid ale.

Cask@The Waterfront Bar & Restaurant, Streatham, London - Dark Amber pour with a medium off-white head. Aroma and taste is malty, Caramel, toffee, some dark fruits, slightly nutty - some light hop notes in there as well. Bitter finish. Nice.
