Schwach würziger, trocken röstiger Antrunk. Nichtssagender Mittelteil, in dem die Malzigkeit nur halbherzig erscheint, im Anschluss mittelstark würzig-herb. Trockener Nachhall. OK. 10/8/7/8/8/8

Dark ruby colored, decent tan head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, candied fruits. Taste is sweet caramel and toffee, again candy dark fruit, some roasted nuts. Low but present bitterness. Medium bodied and slightly chewy.

CAN 50 CL. The aroma is just as you would expect it - dark caramel and even some chocolate. Later, you get some tannic stale wine notes. The flavour, on the other hand, is just the opposite - it does start with a light sweetness, that is replaced immediately with a dry spicy astringent bitterness, with notes of wine and spicy oak. The body is solid, yet easy drinkable. And the beer gets better as you drink it, which is unusual for a macro-lager. Good.

Dark color with some red notesSolid head with good retention. Roasted with a lightly bitter chocolate taste in the middle. Finishes very malty with characteristics of a pumpernickel or other rich bread. Full bodied beer. Solid beer.

30/03 0.5 l can courtesy of Marko, thanks for sharing! It poured slightly hazy body with medium sized head. Weak aroma of some dried fruits, roasted sugar and touch of alcohol. Flavor was slightly bitter, nice coffee and raisins again. Medium bodied with moderate, pleasant finish reflecting the flavor, although ending a bit harshly. A nice surprise, I liked it, even more than Marko as I could remember.

Huge thanks to Petya for lugging this all the way to Marburg for me! Shared with heavy. Poured a daaark amber-red body, brownish really, with a medium sized off white head. Nice mild fruity aroma, creamy too, mostly raisins, quite malty. Mild, watery even, taste, malt, raisins, light bitterness. Slightly lighter than it should be but tastier than expected. A good macro dark beer.

Can at ChrisO Snow Tasting, thanks to Leighton. It pours deep brown with a small off-white head. The nose is caramel, toffee, dark fruit, wood, candy and faint smoke. The taste is caramel, wood, leather, faint cocoa, toffee and varnish with a dry, caramel finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty sweet and one-dimensional....

Bottle at Chriso’s snow tasting 20/01/2013 Chesnut brown colour, small beige head. A bit of sweetcorn in the aroma, malt loaf / veda bread. Taste follows. Vague brown malt, bit of a sweet finish. Not great.
