This hauntingly good brew in your hand is rife with dark complexities. Eleven malts were used to create deep flavors of coffee, chocolate, caramel, and molasses. A hint of bitterness and herbal character from carefully selected American hops help support the monolithic maltiness of Dark Apparition. A truly decadent brew that is intended to be poured into your favorite snifter and given time to warm up from its dark and cold resting place. Be aware when in the presence of Dark Apparition ’cause this ghost is a creeper.

Bottle, courtesy of Sinh4, thanks! Pours pitch black. Superb classical imperial stout. Raw, burnt, coffee and chocolate, liquorice, bitter but still with a strong body. Some smoked wood, and super smooth at it. Good.

2018 bottle drunk 11/28/18. Maybe opaque dark hickory-mahogany. Tan head to ring. A lot of raisin, ash, stale roast and glue. Jumbled and muddled and just too ashen. Glue-like alcohol certainly not helping. In mouth it's sweet with plum, raisin and caramel and ending on awful, stale, astringent, ashen, overly charred, oxidized, soy-forward notes. Good attenuation and carbonation with no glue in flavor but the flavor is still awful.

Draft (snifter) somewhere in northern Indiana. Deep opaque brown-black body, medium dense beige head. Nose mostly roast and toasted sugars when cold, with coffee and tannins at warmer temperatures. Roasty body, with fruity/bitter coffee beans, plummy sugars, and an inky charred bitter finish.

375ml bottle bought at Systembolaget PK-Huset. Shared with Finn and djoeye. Pitch black in the glass under a low fawn-coloured head, spotty lacing. Meat and dark malts on the nose. Flavoured with meat-like chocolate, dark fruits, and molasses. Mid-sweet, long-lived malty ending, lightly roasted. Rounded on the swallow. Decent sipper, not outstanding. (Rating session, Tromsø 25.10.2018).

Flaske spandert av Rune. Delt med ham og djoeye i WCveien. Svart. Middels høyt mokkafarget skum som daler veldig sakte. Lett sjokoladearoma. Silkemyk munnfølelse. Smaken melkesjokolade. Alkoholen velintegrert.
