Imperial Stout to nasza urodzinowa tradycja – w tym roku wykorzystaliśmy dodatek masła orzechowego i leżakowaliśmy go w beczkach po bourbonie Four Roses, które nadały aromatów wanilii, kokosa i oczywiście – amerykańskiej whisky! Nasycenie azotem wygładziło dodatkowo jego strukture i doskonale połączyło z aromatami słodowymi, tworząc niesamowicie pyszny, deserowy efekt!

Bottle shared at the Kóstolószoba. #3500 for me! Pours jet black with a finger wide beige head. Nos is big nutty, bourbon and chocolate, rather sweet and inviting. Taste is sweet notes of chocolate, booze, bourbon and peanuts, also some hazelnuts. Intense, indulgent. Closes with a long lasting, sweet finish, has a big, creamy and oily body and soft carbonation. Lovely.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is vanilla, bourbon, peanuts, roasted malt, chocolate, alcohol, suggestions of coffee, praline. Flavour is sweet with some roasty bitterness, bit boozy. Full body. Heavy, sweet and boozy. Modest peanut butter, plenty of bourbon.

Draught@TCBW2022. Pitch black colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is peanut butter, some coffee, chocolate, liquorice, alcohol and mild bourbon sweetness along with some toasted and mild dried fruity tones. Flavour is pretty much following the same pattern, but the bourbon and wooden elements are coming through more clearly.

Pours pitch black, small layer of darkly tanned head fades rather fast (nitro???) Scent is Roasty, almost ashy, green coffee, some peanut butter but not over the top. Barrel is hidden. Taste is full, sweet, with just enough PB to make it clear, but not overdoing it - the base stout is still very prominent. Fairly thick and intense - but a bit more might set it appart from the masses. The barrel isn't to be found, really. Very good beer, but underwhelming concidering the price.

33cl bottle (gold wax, vintage 2020) from Kaffee Bazaar webshop. F: thin film, dark tanned. C: black, opaque. A: rich dark malts, chocolate, coffee, cocoa, dark dried fruits, bourbon touch, dark plums, vanilla touch, toffee, bit vinous, nutty of course. T: really full malty base, chocolate sauce, coffee, dark fruits, woody touch, toffee, dark chocolate, vinous touch, bit vanilla, light oily mouthfeel, nutty, nice balanced bitterness, low if any carbonation, very tasty for the style, fully enjoyed.

Bottle. Pours black with beige head. Sweet peanut butter on nose. Tastes sweetish, sticky mouthfeel. Peanut butter, some chocolate. Vanilla? Smoothly goes down the neck. Very well hidden alcohol. Tasty!

Gold Waxed Bottle, Edition from 2020. No coz my tu mamy, fistaszki, maselko, placki z jablkami smazone na masle klarowanym, nieco nutelli, czy innego sztucznego kremu czekoladowo-orzechowego, no i maslo orzechowe, a raczej krem orzechowy sie tak powinien zwac ten cudny rarytas z ameryki, ktory mi nie pasi niestety, i ogolnie ten krem i ten zawarty w tym piwie. Zdominowalo smak, a nawwet posmak, cale szczescie ze ten bourbon sie wyczuwa, ale glownie tylko w aromacie, ciekawostka, eksperyment nie dla mnie, cale szczescie ze utopili alko w tym gestym masle, plusik za to ze nie wyczuwalny, Plusik za lak, i za ladna piane. Ogolnie ocenie wysoko, bo piwo wyraziste, zbytnio jak dla mnie w kwestii maselka, ale wole takie ze szczypiorkiem, na zytnim razowym pieczywie.

Black, brown head. Smell is sweet, definitely peanut, bourbon. Decent body, not too thick not too thin, but firm. Taste is roasty and sweet, like some sort of chocolate milk coffee blend with a scoop of peanut butter thrown in. Pretty tasty!

Forgot a photo, a video still will have to do. Peanut butter is overbearing at first but no surprise as most pb stouts but some air and room temp ish clears that right up, really nice barrel notes, slight booze, tasty for lowish abv. No lactose!!!
