Our Sourdough Pale uses delicious, zesty sourdough loaves in the beer.

Added hops enhance the aroma but don't overpower with bitterness. A perfect session ale.

500ml bottle on 8th November 2020 from Waitrose, Holloway Road. Pours crystal clear amber with shallow, loose off-white foam that quickly disappears without a trace. Malty and pungent aroma. Bittersweet in-mouth with caramel malt, leafy hops and tangy fruits. The finish remains fruity only to become increasingly bitter on the upper rear palate. Zingy mouthfeel and a mmedium body.

[50cl bottle from Waitrose, Bracknell.] A bright amber pour with gentle carbonation and a thin white head; grainy aroma; citrusy to start, with a definite sourdough taste; then a sour and salty finish. Rather good.

500ml bottle - Pours a clear pale yellow colour with a small white head. Aroma is a light malt, lemon and grassy hops. A light malt taste, some sweetness with a grassy hop bitterness, crisp with a dry finish. Light bodied, soft carbonation but a bit watery.

Bottle from Surrey Wine Cellar, Chobham. Grassy aroma, with a sour edge to it. Light gold. Bubbly. Thick foamy white head. At first there was a sweet hit but it then grew in bitterness. Citrus fruits. I there are hints of sourdough in it too. However it's quite underpowered. Light bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation. Long dry finish. Not too bad, if not overly exciting.
