On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours slightly hazy amber with off-white head. Distinct floral hop aroma, caramel. Tastes bitter with some sweetness. Thin to medium bodied, bitter finish. Very nice ESB!

Mørk gyldenbrun. Lavt tett skum med litt farge. Nesten klar. Aroma av malt & karamell. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken kjeks, nøtter & tørket frukt. Ekstra tørr avslutning - som ga mersmak og abstinensfølelse. Tanken går fort til et velbehandlet cask-øl i England.

500ml bottle, batch nr 2347, bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Airy, white, bubbly head over a misty amber coloured body, crocheted lacing on the glassware. Floral nose, scent of earthy malts, quite inviting. Fine caramel fruity blend to the taste character, supported by bread-like malts and a almond vibe. Leafy hops to a dry bittersweet end. Fine depth. Delivers quite well as a Friday eve drink. (Tromsø 19.02.2021).

Bottle. An unclear copper colored beer topped by s finger-thick off-white head. The aroma has lots of nutty, bready, caramel malt flavors, with some piney, flowery and lightly grassy hops in the back. It's full-bodied, very soft on the palate, with a gentle carbonation. There's residual sweetness, perhaps a tad much, but for an ESB style beer it's not bad. Caramel, nuts, semi-dark bread, some bread crust, a faint touch of brown sugar, grass, pine cones and some resin in the flavor. There's bitterness too, but just enough to bring balance to the accounts. Malt driven finish too, still with a pleasant hoppy addition. Overall, I'd prefer this one a bit drier, but it's sure a pleasant Bitter, should go well with the Sunday roast I guess. 210212.

Bottle. Slightly unclear golden body under a nice, stable white head. Aroma is pretty straight forward malty with some fruitiness in general and a hint of herbs/flowers. Taste is really nice and smooth malt, soft grain, some biscuit, hint of toffee (no butterscotch) and fruity, balanced bitterness. Fine balanced body as well and average aftertaste. Gives a very nice impressive of a typical old school pub beer that I can repeat a few times, just sweet and bitter enough without any sharp edges.
