Caramel, chocolade, flink alcoholisch, zoete cognac en heaven hill bourbon, goed te doen. Maar goed dat ze hier geen ui in doen 😇

0.33 l can from 'Ace Drinks', canned in November 2020. Very dark ruby to black with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity and slightly boozy aroma of molasses, raisins, prunes, cognac and bourbon. Rather sweet, malty, slightly bitter and gently fruity taste of molasses, bourbon, cognac, raisins, prunes and chocolate, followed by a long, slightly bitter, gently boozy finish. Medium to full body, smooth, almost sticky and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Massive Barley Wine, very intense, rich and complex. Maybe still a bit hot, but all in all a lovely sipper. Frontaal delivers again!

Can at home, from HOTM online, 09/01/21. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is fruit cake, dates, brown sugar melt, nutty twang, toffee, light chocolate, bourbon barrel. Taste comprises sweet malts, subtle barrel, cocoa powder, toffee, dried fruit esters, brown sugars, molasses, treacle toffee. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced kiss of alcohol. Solid, approachable and well balanced and easy drinking BA barley wine. Can't say I got much Cognac but a good barrel effect none the less.

Can. Almost clear dark brown-amber beer, small pale tan head. Smooth airy palate, decent superfine carbonation. Smooth malts, a decent creamy sweetness. Trace of toffee. Ripe fruits. Really nice barrelling here, well blended as well. Smooth Bourbon soaked fruits into smooth Cognac, a perfect balance between the two. Some spice on the finish which also brings out the burned and slightly bitterish toffee a little more. Good stuff, goes down far too easy.
