Bottle shared at Brewver Belgian Winter Gathering. Opaque dark brown to black color, average sized off-white head. Smell and taste are malts, sourish tart-bitter, tart. Hmm okay. Not my kind of beer. 6-6-6-6-5

75ml bottle @ Belgian Beer Geeks Winter Gathering. Hazed dark appearance. Aroma brings dark malts, coffee, whisky and a hint of glue. Flavour profile seems overshadowed by a solventy presence, some oak, medium bodied, moderate sour sweetness.. not really pushing the right dark sour buttons for me.

1/III/25 - 75cl bottle @ Belgian Beer Geek Gathering (2025 Winter/Spring edition), BB: n/a (2025-203) Thanks to Maakun for sharing the bottle!

Clear dark brown beer, no head, just a small rim next to the side of the glass, slightly stable, non adhesive. Aroma: quite some vinegar up front, a soft roast, oxidized, alcohol, a bit chemical. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very bitter, pretty chemical, alcohol, very unpleasant, some tannins, more chemical notes, vinegar. Aftertaste: quite some dark roast coming through, alcohol, super acidic, rather weird flavour combination, not a big fan of very sour and very roasted beers in one.

0.75 l bottle from 'Het Biermoment', best before December 2023, cellared for over a year. Black with a thin, slightly creamy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly sourish, gently roasty, quite smoky-medicinal and a little fruity aroma of dark chocolate, licorice, peat, iodine, red berries, red wine, oak and traces of vinegar. Quite sweet, malty, gently sour, roasty, fairly smoky-medicinal, rather vinous-fruity taste of dark chocolate, licorice, red berries, red wine, oak, peat, iodine, quite some vinegar and light glue, followed by a medium long, quite tart, fairly woody-dry, vinous, smoky-medicinal finish. Medium to full body, smooth, moderately astringent and slightly creamy mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Extremely complex beverage, so much going on, just a little gluey and maybe a tad too sour for my liking, otherwise it would be great.

Bottle. Color: Black, mocha head. Aroma: Leather, roasted malt, sour dark cherries, peat hints. Taste: Dark tart and sweetih cherries, leathery wild yeast funk, peat, some wood and subtle roasted malt notes. Moderate to over moderate tart, moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter. Above medium body, below average carbonation. Dry-ish mouthfeel. Very nice complexity and balance. Great wild beer. Going towards a peated version of a Flemish Red.

Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of heavy peat, strong smoke, chocolate, cherry, tart, oak and iodine. Taste has nice savory peat, smoke, cherry, chocolate, malt, some caramel, oak, iodine and a long peaty finish. Insane amount of scotch flavors and this works very well with the stout, which is difficult for a stout. Very nice.
