On the fifth day of Christmas... 0,75l bottle from the brewery that I had kept for quite a while. Dark brown pour with stbale cream head. Aromas of oak, orange (peel), candied orange, bourbon, vanilla, cream. Taste is bourbon, vanilla, candied orange, cream/milk, chocolate, even a hint of cherries. Warm boozy finish. Should go well with desserts.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear, dark amber with a small, lacing off-white head. Nose has little aroma, some overripe dark fruits and a hint of oxidation. Quite a rich and full body, some toffee and again overripe fruit - and this note of oxidation. It's very British, very rustic and not entirely clean, but somehow it works in its own right. 150420

On keg at the Salt Horse. Appearance - deep brown with a nice fluffy head. Nose - caramel and nuts. Chewy toffee, even cherry stone going into marzipan. Taste - chewy praline again with a hint of cherry or marzipan. Palate - medium bodied at least. Chewy middle and long finish is still a little sweet. Overall - good.

Bottled picked up at Noble Hops. It pours clear deep ruby with a sturdy foamy yellowy beige head. The aroma is sweet, oily, sticky, cola cubes, jammy fruits, Victoria sponge, angostura bark and festive spice, The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, warming boozy, sticky, varnish, candy cane, cherry drops, festive spice, clove rock, cinnamon, bitter orange, over stewed tea, tannin,. Negroni and angostura bitters with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Has a Negroni character about it, which is pretty fun.
