Wood and amber aromatics. Herbal, very quaffable. Bottle. Hazy orange amber, fine carbonation, eggshell cream. Light bready and orangepeel aroma. Fullbodied fruity (berries, melon, ripe apples), toasted bread, caramel. Chewy, substatiel body, mellow mouthfeel. Sweet demera aftertaste.

(Bottle at Quinn’s, London) Rarely have I had as malty beer as this one. The malts were almost overwhelming both in aroma and the taste. So, this one lacked balance quite a bit. I wouldn’t say this was a bad beer. It tasted good and other flavours were able to emerge below the maltiness. I would categorise this one as a märzen instead of dunkel.

0.5l bottle that ogivlado got in Budapest and shared with me (thanks!) Poured a slightly darker amber-orange body going brown. White head. The nose is dominated by a coffee/chocolate maltiness, quite surprising really. Nice light coffeeish taste, bit woody but coffee is the key word here. Light bitterness. Quite nice and enjoyable in the beginning but one dimensional and gets a bit tiring. Still, a pleasant surprise.

Bottle, 5.4%. Sourish, slightly hoppy aroma. Hazy amber colour. Small white head. The flavour is a bit sour. Not entirely unpleasant, but no so good either.

Bottled (BB 12/2009). Courtesy of bierkoning, ty Edo! Amber color, small white head. Grassy, a bit caramelly nose. Medium-bodied. Grassy hoppy, slightly toasted-chocolaty sweetness. Aftertaste has all of this, well-balanced, although not very exicting. My first Weissenohe-beer.
