330ml can. Bright clear gold, small big bubbled head, minor retention. Aroma of biscuit malts, with mild citrus and passionfruit notes. Taste is same but overly bitter without enough sweetness or fruity hop notes to compensate, unbalanced. Mouthfeel is ok, light to medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Could be better.

[33cl can from Home Bargains, Festival Park, Etruria as Microbrew Over the Water.] A palish amber pour with a billowing cream head; aroma of tropical fruit and cereal grains; thick cereal taste with a touch of fruit; then some blood orange and a drier citrusy finish. Very light, with a biscuity base.

Can from Home Bargains, Salford Shopping City. Golden with a small head. Hoppy, but its mix of usually flavoursome hops combine here for a very bland tasting effort this time.

330ml can from my local 'Home Bargains' store: BB 24th Feb 2022. Drank at home on 2nd May 2021. Golden pour, light haze, white head. Aroma is a mixture of citrus fruits and maltiness. Taste follows the same lines as the nose; citrusy and malty. I liked it.

Can from local Home Bargains store. Tropical fruits in the nose – apricot as much as anything. Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with minimal white head. Tropical fruits again in the mouth, apricot, mango, tangerine, but with a general strong hoppy bitterness as well. Fruity bitterness in the finish. It’s pretty much conforms to style but not wildly exciting.

A county tick is a county tick. At least this Home Bargains offering is brewed by Glen Affric and perhaps explains why this one was about 30p more than the other 98p one I also bought. From their Byfleet branch. Aroma had citrus and biscuit - what are this thin lemon biscuits called? Nds up a tad sickly. Light copper gold. Frothy thin translucent white head. Medium bitter. More quinine than citrus. As promised there is underlying biscuit. Some herbs. Light bodied. Thin if slick. Average carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Basic stuff. What I always associate with a failed UK attempt at a US style IPA. Just not enjoying this.
